    You're welcome.
Of the two that smart18dharmit recommended, you should try the better SnowOSX v3.6 first as the Hazard is more hybrid.

You are right ....about the recommendation about v 3.6
    but their is one problem...
that v3.6 support only sound drivers...nothing else

on other side v3.5 supports sounds, battery, ethernet, drivers so....

now its on your side which you want....

no doubt v3.6 is hybrid...i too use v3.6
    thank you

Yes, SnowOSX is better in this hardware configuration. I thought your link point to V3.6, but if it also got 3.5 then that is good to know.

The point is that Hazard is more hybrid and would work well for other hardware setup.

Thanks ratvn & smart18dharmit for being of great help, unfortunately at the moment Iím unable to get the retail SL DVD to work on XPS 16 even with Rebel EFI, all iBoot versions, ETC. Luckily my Inspiron 1545 is working great on retail SL DVD except for video card, I will hold off on XPS 16 for now and explore/test more in future and hopefully post step by step guide when Iím successful unless someone beats me to it.

I have successfully installed SL retail DVD on XPS 16; few gadgets are not functional such as WiFi, Bluetooth and few others. I will post update when I find some kexts for XPS 16 and/or update to 10.6.4

That is such a good news. You're doing well. Congrats
I'm actually working on a retail method for you since you're loving it, by cloning and modifying your other laptop SL installation. But if you got it then that is much better.
Sure love to find out how you've achieved it after so many failures with booting package CD's.

    Default Still testing,

No major progress yet, SL will crash each time I update to 10.6.2 or 10.6.4, still booting on safe mode, still unable to boot without iBoot supported CD, no Ethernet, WiFi, graphics support texts and cannot see my DVD drive. Few occasions I tried to patch DSDT system will freeze on black screen and throw me back to Windows. I’m very open to suggestions, assistance and still testing as well as doing lots of reading.

It could be some files missing or in wrong folders. All the retail methods are fairly similar, and you would need some support files installed.
    1. OSX patches/fixes files along with most hardware kexts should be in /E/E for easier update to later version.
    2. Chameleon v2 RC4 standard may be the best choice.
    3. Following is a guide/package for P45 series chipset, which is close to yours. Take a look in the content of the kext package to see if yours is missing anything (just in case you haven't got this guide yet).
Beside the standard vanilla mac installation files from retail, yours should only be about a dozen or less add'l support/patches files to make it runs.
My AMD installed from retail only took 7 kexts, a DSDT and one kernel to run.
    Here is the link

Hope that you will get it soon.
As for update crash/KP, delete/move SleepEnable kext before updating.

I noticed that am missing EXTRA folder and doesn’t have SleepEnable Kext, got it to boot without CD and touchpad with keyboard disabled on me but external mouse and keyboard works. I hope to keep reporting progress
