Reboot stops after upgrade
I'm trying to get Snow Leopard to work on my AMD (Athlon 64 X2 Dual) Windows XP system. I've installed it on VirtualBox using iDeneb_v1.5.1_OSX86_v10.5.7. I followed some www.taranfx.com/install-snow-leopard-virtualbox howto's on the internet during installation. In the end I could boot Snow Leopard.
Yesterday I had to upgrade my (Apple) installation. The following software packages had to be installed:
- Remote Desktop Client Update (3.4)
- iLife Support (9.0.4)
- Airport Utility (5.5.2)
- Quicktime (7.6.9)
- Mac OS X Update (10.5.8)
- iTunes (10.1.2)
After the required reboot Snow Leopard stopped loading (at the grey screen with the Apple icon in the middle of the screen). I'm wondering what might have caused this:
- Apple seeing it was an installation on VirtualBox/AMD system
- The choices I made during the installation of OSx86
Regarding the first point, *blush* they wouldn't, wouldn't they?
So, the second point must be the only viable point. What choices did I make during installation?
- Mac OS X Server (64 bit)
- Deselected 'Enable EFI (special OSes only)
- iDeneb Essential System
- 9.7.0 Qoopz Kernel (what choice should I make )
- ATI Video
Anyway, looking at a grey start up screen is not getting me any further. I removed the virtual disk, and started new. But here is me hoping you have suggestions for me.
