Default Pulling my hair out with my new AMD rig. I could really use some guidance !

    Setup:
AMD Phenom II X4 965 Black Edition
    Gigabyte GA-880GM-UD2H
    4GB DDR3 RAM
    Windows 7 Ultimate 64bit
    Seagate SATA HDD
    Generic SATA BD DVD Drive

I have tried both VMWare and Virtualbox to get OSX SL going on this machine to no avail

I have read so many tutorials and write ups that my head is now spinning and I am not sure anymore what to do.

I got to the point were I boot up the Hazard iso but then get KP every time.

Couple basic questions just to make sure I have the easy things correct:
With my Quad core CPU, what do I set the system parameter to in Virtualbox. Do I set what I actually have or what I would like the VB to use ?

Is this suitable for my setup? : Snow Leopard 10.6.1-10.6.2 SSE2/SSE3 Intel AMD Hazard

I have a retail DVD of Snow Leopard that I purchased. Is there an easier way of doing this by utilizing the retail DVD or would I be trying to reinvent the wheel?

Any help is greatly appreciated !!

As mentioned earlier, I did follow all the steps of the standard procedure.

yes i have a vary similar system you have to use an amd kernal and the patches all in oracle virtual box 4.0 r69151 I've tried all the others only one that works if you still have problems email at dustinseitz@cox.net i'll help with any other info and the disk you have wont work you need ether iATKOS_v7 or Kalyway_10.5.2_DVD_Intel_Amd those are the only two that i have found to work and i've tried like them all still haven't got it to work out side of virtualbox

    Thanks for the reply :-)

I downloaded the Specific VB version and also downloaded the Kalyway iso and burnt it to disk.

    Now what do I do?

I am making some progress. I am able to boot the installation of the OSX but then I am stuck at the "Select a Destination" screen. It doesn't list anything where I can install to.

Do I need to create a partition or a virtual drive ? IDE or SATA?

    Thanks

Update: I did manage to figure out that I had to create a virtual drive to install the OSX to. Installation went through without a hitch. However, now when I start the Virtual Machine, I get the grey screen with the Apple logo and the spinning wheel.
This just sits there and doesn't do anything.

How do I go about troubleshooting this ?
