Problem booting up Acer Aspire One D250- possibly graphics related (Intel GMA 950)
Hey everybody, after reading Gizmodo's post on hackintoshing the Dell Mini 10v, I figured I would try to adapt it to the Acer Aspire One D250.
Anyways, I downloaded the USB maker, successfully created a bootable USB flash drive from a *REAL* Snow Leopard retail disc (I'm not some jackass who just downloads Mac OS X illegally- Apple deserves the money. Besides, it's only 30 bucks), installed Snow Leopard successfully and reboot. I used the -v flag in case there were any errors.
There wern't any errors, so I assumed everything was going well. I got to a blue screen, and my mouse arrow showed up. Then the video started. As soon as the screen went grey, the netbook rebooted.
I've had this happen to me before (a LONG time ago though- I'm talking back in the 10.4.11 Tiger days), so I logged in to single user mode, mounted the root directory and changed the root password. Then I typed 'touch /var/db/.AppleStartup... umm something' (I don't quite remember the entire file name). I reboot, and it did the same thing again- only this time it reboots after it renders the default Snow Leopard background (before it renders the log in window, so I can't even log in!).
Using the -x, -f, -x32 or any combination of these flags doesn't seem to help.
I believe the problem has something to do with the default GMA 950 drivers- are there any alternative drivers that are compatible with Snow Leopard? Am I able to use graphics drivers from Leopard (10.5.x)?
*EDIT- I'm trying to run Mac OS X Snow Leopard version 10.6.0 btw
*EDIT 2- Gizmodo's piece on hackintoshing the Dell mini 10v can be found here -> http://gizmodo.com/5389166/how-to-ha...eopard-netbook
*EDIT 3- This may be related to hibernation and NOT the graphics drivers, as the power button glows orange for a few minutes before rebooting. hmmm...

Aspire One D250 Snow Leopard Reboot Loop
I read that flashing your bios to the 1.25 version would fix this snow leopard reboot loop. But I cannot confirm this totally. While my snow install no longer loops I can't get to the desktop after install it reboots and goes through apple logo screen and then there's a second of all blue screen and then back to the grey screen where it sits, its not froze the mouse moves but never gets past that. I look forward to seeing a future guide from you. thanks
