Retail Snow Leopard DVD on XPS 1640 Guide assistance

Hi everyone, I have done lots and lots of reading & testing to install Snow Leopard 10.6 on XPS 1640 without success, I will greatly appreciate if someone can point me towards the right direction. EFI, SL boot132, Chameleon 2 RC3 and few other boot-loaders have not worked for me. Thanks in advance for your input and help.
My spec is as follows:
Core 2 DUO 2.53GHz
8GB DDR3 RAM
ATI Mobility Radeon 3670.
320 GB HD
Intel 1520 Half Mini Card
DELL BLUETOOTH 370 Module

EFI should get you through as your CPU is well supported. What is your chipsets series/number?

I have tried EFI 10.8.5 and 10.6 without any success, my chipset is Intel Core 2 Duo P8700 (2.53 GHz 1066 MHz FSB/3M L2 Cache) 57F6ZL1

I thought that is your CPU, not your chipsets.

My bad, is Intel 4 series Chipset processor to DRAM controller 2A40. With EFI I’m getting nanoseconds error message.

Yours could be the GL/GM/PM45 series, and should not have much trouble with OSX installation. For retail DVD, yes, you do need a hardware compatible boot CD.
Have you tried iBoot?

I have tried iboot ATI, NVIDIA, and supported without any luck, I will try some more tonight and report back.

Alright. While it's not extremely hard to find a compatible boot CD to start the retail installer for your system, it would be much easier to install SL with distro releases, and once you get SL up and running, you would update it to current version anyway. So have you thought about that or still would go with retail?

All the iboots are giving me double panic error, thanks for all your assistance; I will explore the option you recommended.
