Making a Hackintosh out of an HPE-380t Pavilion... BIOS flash needed?
Hey all! I'm new to Hackintosh. I've never attempted to make one before, but after recently buying a new computer I've decided I'm sick of Windows. I'm not 100% sure my hardware is capable of running OS X. There are some things that are promising, like that the manufacturer of my wireless card (Ralink) puts out OS X drivers, so that's at least one major hump that I shouldn't have to deal with.
I think the main problem I'm having is that HP has presumably stunted my BIOS in their custom flavor. When trying to follow guides for how to configure my system to get OS X to run, I can't get at necessary settings, particularly some AHCI options for SATA (in my BIOS, the only AHCI option is the SATA mode, opposed to RAID and IDE). So I feel like my system might be able to run OS X if I reflashed the BIOS, but I haven't been able to figure out where I could get one.
Here's some info about my hardware.
Can anyone steer me toward success or point out that I won't be able to get it running after all? :) If anyone has experience doing this with an HP system or similar hardware, let me know!
