Install problem on ThinkPad T43
I suspect I may onto a lost cause here, but I'll see if anyone can help.
I'm a Mac user and I have no problems with either the imac I use at home to the MacBook I drag around with me. Having said that, I have an old Laptop that is doing nothing so I though I'm look at installing OS X on it, but I'm having a fairly fundamental problem with.
The Laptop is an IBM ThinkPad T43 (Pentium M 750, 1.5GB RAM, 40GB PATA HD, 15in 1400x1050 LCD, 64MB ATI Radeon X300, Intel 802.11bg wireless, Bluetooth, 1Gb Ethernet, Secure chip).
I'm using an OSX86 v10.6.2 DVD. The full name of the image I downloaded is 'OSX86 v10.6.2/Snow_Leopard_10.6.1-10.6.2_SSE2_SSE3_Intel_AMD_by_Hazard.iso'
I can boot the laptop using the DVD, partition the drive using the Apple Disk utilities (as a Mac OS Extended Journaled partition with a GUID Partition Table), and the install process appears to complete successfully.
However, when the laptop restarts, once it gets past the points where it offers to boot from the DVD I get the following error;
System config file '/com.apple.Boot.plist' not found
After searching it seems that a lot of people have seen this issue when they they try to boot from the DVD, but I can't find any references to this issue after the install process has finished. I also wonder if my PATA drives (the laptop pre-dates SATA HD and DVDs) are causing an issue
So, can anyone shed any light on problem?
