Help, I'm stuck!
Hi all,
First time poster, but been having a look around for a while now.
After having a fully working Kalyway system for two years I thought I would upgrade using Kakewalk to SL. I'm not that great with understanding the kexts/kernel panics etc, so Kakewalk seemed like a nice easy option. I popped the Legacy ISO in the drive and then went ahead and put the SL install disk in when asked, but after that I got the greyed out screen asking me to turn the computer off in every known language. Anyone know what I'm doing wrong?
I've running the following...
GA-P31-S3G
Quad Q6660
Nvidia XFX
1 SATA HDD
1 IDE HDD
4gb RAM
I want this install to be as easy as possible, and as upgradable as possible (although I know this is always hard to predict what Apple will do next). Is it going to be best for me to get some new equipment now, or will I have no problems upgrading in the future (HDD's and Graphics)
Thanks in advance!
Lewis

It's either your boot disc is not compatible or would require some boot options to go through.

what would be your suggestion? I'm finally up and running 10.5.8 but still can't enable the ethernet, is there an easy fix for that? if so i'll give up on 10.6 for this machine.
thanks
