External HDD install or dual boot?
I've just signed up...
Just few days ago someone told me about this chance of installing MacOS X on a PC, so I started googling about it and found lots of guides, how-to's etc. etc..
I'm very interested in installing Snow Leopard on my PC but I'm facing some problems about it.
First, most of the procedures I've found require you to use an already-working OSX installation in order to prepare USB sticks... But I don't have any Macs nor can I borrow one.
Besides, and here comes the worse problem (the first can be avoided with appropriate iso's), I can't understand what I have to do if I want to dual-boot Windows 7 and Snow Leopard.
It looks like you need two physical HD's, because using two partitions on the same HD can cause problems with Win (something about MBR and GUID...); problem is I don't have two physical HD's :D...
Therefore, I thought it would be a good idea to install Snow Leopard on the external HDD I have, as a workaround to this partitions problem...
Yet, I still can't understand what I have to do :(. As I've already said, I'm unable to prepare the USB stick to boot from for the installation, and I've just noticed there are lots of softwares you can use to run the installation, but I don't know what to choose.
So, in the end, my question is: what should I do :D?
Would the dual-boot solution cause me problems?
Is the external-HDD solution better?
Just in case, here my HW configuration:
-mainboard ASUS P5KC
-Intel Core2Duo E6750 @2.66GHz
-2GB of DDR2 RAM
-Asus EAH 3870 512MB
I'm sorry if my English is not perfect but, you know, I'm italian ^^"...
Thanks in advance to anyone who will help me ^^.
