DAW Logic Studio
I am hoping to have a Hackintosh as the final part of my studio setup, the reason for this being that I am very intent on using Logic Studio (Logic Pro 9) as the software interface for the whole lot.
Now obviously I need a Mac to do this, and I am not paying the hideous rates that Apple charge for such things. The problem is, I'm really troubled on getting the right setup.
Would anybody be able to suggest a build that would run Logic Studio and accept the Phonic Helix firewire interface that I have? It needn't be anything particularly powerful as I'll be doing single channel multi-track recording with a minimal amount of tracks. My budget is around $400, but the less the better.
Many thanks, it's mainly the mobo that I need help with.
The Gigabyte P55 boards should do the trick, take a look at iboot + multibeast. I want to do the same thing, but I lack the money to get a whole new pc rig right now. I've settled with using Windows 7 and Presonus Studio One 1.5. It's an excellent daw and i'm tempted to not use up all the time and money building a mac and just be satisfied with what I have :).
Thanks very much for the reply. I'll take a look.
Sorry to be a nuisance but I'd like to get this ordered ASAP. Would someone be able to approve the hardware list I made?
