Acer Travelmate 4280
We have installed OSX 10.6 on a Acer Travelmate 4280, according to the Lifehacker guide at this link (How to Build a Hackintosh with Snow Leopard, Start to Finish - Hackintosh - Lifehacker).
After install basicly all hardware (ethernet, touchpad, wireless, keyboard, sound) doesn't work. The use of Kext Installer didn't seem to make any difference. Also the laptop is recognized as Mac Pro "under About this Mac" with a wrong CPU speed.
So do we need or can we get a specific driver? Or didn't we simply get the installation right?
We also tried netbook installer but it fails while booting.
We would really appreciate any help.
old thread i know but i want people with the same laptop to know: it's possible.
I had success with using MultiBeast by tonymac after install, but basically you just have to install the right kext somehow:
VoodooPS2Controller for Touchpad and Keyboard
VoodooHDA for Sound
Wireless is indeed a Problem because the build in card is not really supported. The easiest option is to buy a supported one online.
Google around a bit for the rest.
