Acer Aspire One Pro 531 using netbookinstaller?
Hi,
So I got this acer aspire one 531 netbook from work. And thought that it should work flawlessly with the netbookinstaller... as the hardware seems almost identical to the dell mini 10v.
Atom 270 1.6 ghz. 2gb ddr2. 950 graphics. Atheros wifi, broadcom bluetooth.
Everything works except the sound when booting to the installer.
However, when booting the installer, formatting the drive and starting the installerer it always tops dead with a panic of some sort after a couple of minutes in.
Looks like this: http://qkpic.com/6acae
And when I start the Netbook Installer from the utilities menu it says it's an unsupported device..
So I was thinking, would it not work to just update the machine plist? So that it identifies the acer and just uses the same stuff the mini 10v does?
It's identified as a Mac with the modeidentifier as: Acer one pro k1.0 (update, using the terminal and running, sysctl hw.model - it says: Aspire one Pro icpus).
Tech spec: aspire one pro: product page (swedish site, as I can't seem to find the one pro in the us..)
EDIT: it seems it's called: Aspire One P531h in the us. http://us.acer.com/acer/productv.do?...CRC=2235870644 - only difference I can see is that the one I have has a 250 gb drive, instead of the 160.
EDIT again..: Now even the sound seems to be recognized out of the box... device id: 0x10250243 / audio: id 272
EDIT... so I ran the installation logs when attempting to install and got some weird stuff just before it crashed.

Got loads of: IOUnserialize has detected a string that is not valid UTF-8.... BIOS issue?
