Post Installation issues on Toshiba Laptop
Alright, I rarely post things in forums (I hate registering haha) But I'm at a loss of what to do. I'm trying to get snow leopard installed on a Satellite A205-S8509, I thought it was going to be fairly straight forward with it being an Intel Processor and an Intel GPU. I have actually successfully gotten through the installation.
My problem now is that when I try to boot to the OS without using my Empire EFI boot disk I get a kernel panic (the cpu power managment panic) Ive tried several different things to get it working, I tried the chameleon loader, the post install that came with the Empire loader disk, which after I looked into it a little more it supposedly has a kext that fixes the cpu power managment panic, apparently not for me though
. I have also tried the chocolate kext in the customize options thinking that may work, but I just get the same problem.
Anyways ive tried to do the research via google searches and scanning forums but I cannot for the life of me find a solution.
Laptop Spec's
IntelŪ PentiumŪ Dual-Core processor T2330 1.60GHz, 1 MB L2, 533MHz FSB
Mobile IntelŪ GL960 Express Chipset
Mobile IntelŪ Graphics Media Accelerator X3100
RealtekŪ 802.11b/g wireless-LAN
Thanks in Advance!

The chocolate shouldn't be a problem (if it does, your KP can't even have clues displayed), but that and the vanilla may not be the best choices either. You may need the strawberry instead. The video card may also have some issues, but there is no problem with display once you booted into OSX? Not using -x safe mode?
Your installation method is retail DVD?
There are some kexts that may need to be deleted and installed.

I really appreciate the response...
I have tried both vanilla and chocolate to boot into osx without the empire disk but to no avail neither worked, I didnt know there was a strawberry though, ill have to look into that.
My installation was actually done using a distro... Snow.Leopard.10.6.1-10.6.2.SSE2.SSE3.Intel.AMD... I wanted to use retail but Ive been too lazy to go out and pick up some dual layer dvds. You think that could be my problem?
As far as booting into osx, Im not having any issues at all as long as I use the empire efi disk, I dont even have to go in safe mode so I dont know.
Im really a noob when it comes to mac's I've yet to even use one (which is why im doing this, to see if I like it) so Im very unfamiliar with the interface etc...

1. Mostly, if using distros, you should not need EFI disk. In this case, it means that there are files/kexts missing from the installation.
2. The reason for retail/distro is that the list of files/kexts needed to be looked at is different for each method.
3. As long as it works, retail or distro is not really matter.
4. So just to make sure that it's not related to video issue if you could get to OSX and it's ok.
5. Vanilla is the unmodified Mac kernel. So, they are calling one mod kernel chocolate (just as flavors), and it is very good kernel. Now, there is one more good one recently, so it's my joke to call it strawberry because there are vanilla and chocolate. If you would ask then no one knows.
So, you would need to look at some folders/files to figure out that KP.
