i read a LOT the last days about osx on a intel based pc.
i tried to install on both of my computers but failed (with different results)

on one (with ati 4850) i got to the installer but none of my drives was found.
(tried ide and sata - problem is the mainboard does not allow me to change any settings for sata etc...)

so i tried my better computer... and i even ended earlier

here my specs:
my computer parts
Intel Core i7-965 Extreme Edition, 4x 3.20GHz, (BX80601965)

HDD: SATA - Western Digital Caviar SE WD2500

[i have an old DVDRW on IDE too]
so can someone of you tell me if i have hardware which is unsupported? or forces the setup to fail?

i'm really curious to get this running (i never used a osx driven computer before - and my knowledge about linux is minimalistic)

what i got is:
132 boot disk mars (no clue if this is the one i need)
i have a retail dvd of snow leopard
update dvd to 1.6.4 (never came that far)
knowledge how to assamble and disassamble computers & configure the bios
motivation to get this running

(i'm on holidays for the next two weeks from 4th oct.)
