AWESOME. turned on the desktop and the IDE drive worked without installing drivers. lets see how it goes! on logo screen right now

didn't mess with the jumper settings yet, didn't look up how to do that yet. still logo screen, no error icon yet though. this dvd seems to have read problems unless it's the dvd drives i've put it in. seemed to run fine in the SATA desktop one..

YES!!!!!! install screen! Now lets just hope I don't get the input output erase error like I did on the intel toshiba

Wow, Toshiba must have had some serious issues, this one jumped right to erasing, and then only took seconds to erase.

now it's like..... do I want to customize the install at all, or just install it and then get the retail disk in the morning, and then deal with that "fun' instead LOL instead of worrying about all the drivers for this install

Ok will I do some customization for the heck of it. Chose the right things I'm sure. Checking the DVD now. 2 minutes later - oh there's a skip button LOL. I had to keep reading a tutorial to realize that hahahha

Dang this dvd drive is SLOW.. still calculating time remaining LOL, maybe I'll have to get a drive tomorrow/later today. NBD. Figures I type that and now it calculates.. started with 2 hours, now it keeps doing down 2 2-5 miuntes every few secs hahaha

I guess now I'll see if the internal BD in this laptop im writing on is IDE. Guessing it's SATA because i bet SATA is better or something.. yep says ATA in device manager. Haven't tried it over here yet though, maybe it'll work. I def want dual boot over here too

Guess i'll hold off with the other pcs since it seems like once I get OS X on the one I can just do this: http://www.taranfx.com/install-snow-leopard-on-pc-easy to get SL on it and the others.

    Hi,
So does it work with IDE? Could you confirm that because there are many people stuck with this nForce issue "waiting for root...", and no one report back if that is the solution.
Congrats. Look like you get yourself some important steps though. If you see that welcome screen then it is very encouraging.

One or the other, I think LOL

Let me know where you're at because it is a bit hard to follow what you're doing...LOL. It looks like I'am following a researcher who talks to himself/herself a lot...LOL

Yes, the IDE method worked. I just wish I had networking working LOL. It plays mp4 hds perfect. I don't have any sound though, doesn't list any output devices.

I only talk a lot so everyone knows what I'm doing right/wrong.

Maybe I should go to sleep now and when I wake up someone will tell me I don't have to worry about networking once i come back with my retail SL to install or sound. LOL

For the desktop I have a WUSB54GC Linksys Wireless USB. Will this work in LEO or SL? (fine if it only works in SL of course LOL). Sound card is High Definition 8-channel audio
    ALC 888S chipset.

Hi, that guide is for the Intel board and that board is one of the most OSX friendly, and you have an AMD.....hhhhmmmm.
If you got that Ideneb on your AMD desktop then try to work out the drivers/kexts for devices. It will make it easier once you're on SL.
Good job for going that far with just reading those guide.

To work out the kernels or drivers or whatever, do I have to reinstall and select different things? How do I add more selections into the install customization?

Of course I want to see if I can get sound or just networking to work in Leo for now since I'm wide awake and super hyper.

sound device will be the last thing you will be worry about
Networking, need to know what device you have so we can load kexs (driver for it)
I am so proud of you. So many people give up because that error with that nForce chipsets
Congrats, my friend, you're doing well
will worry about that network later, if not then will find another USB wifi
do you have onboard LAN ethernet?

Yeah I have that but I'm not able to hook up to the router. I could bridge with laptop but I wouldn't want it to stay that way LOL
