Not so savvy with the whole disconnecting drives thing you mentioned though..

I do however want Windows and SL to share the same storage for photos/vids/etc if that's possible..

What I want in the end is: dual boot with Windows 7 Ultimate/SL Retail (+eventually iLife & iWork).

I'll go get Ideneb, and wait on the partition (pending the storage question) Yeah it sounds like I need someone to take me step by step doesn't it?

    Thank you again ratvn

    Ideneb dling
Or you can try to get Iatkos v7 as well. Who knows, you may have more luck with both of them handy.

Found a few threads to look through for the install To be exact: http://www.hackint0sh.org/f200/69517.htm looks pretty good! I just realized I don't really have any DVDs though CRAP! I do have some DVD-RWs, gonna give that a try, don't wanna go out just yet lol

LOL I didn't realize .rar = ISO. Ok, good, now I'll just erase a DVD and go from there!

Ok, all of my old DVDs are crap. Will it work to burn the iso onto 8gb mem card? (I did it with a DL only update of Windows 7..)

YES, it will work: http://www.insanelymac.com/forum/ind...owtopic=144478 http://www.insanelymac.com/forum/ind...ic=110388&st=0

Ok, it's not working. DDMAC keeps saying my drive is not empy after I delete the 4 files that show up in the USB drive! The first time I went along with it, but the pc wouldn't boot from USB after I changed the bios boot order.

HUGE REVELATION. I just looked at my crap laptop that I pushed aside to get to the desktop I tore apart. It's INTEL. It's a Toshiba Satellite A135-S2266, should I be excited?

Sure. I would be too if I've found my old laptop. If that is for OSX then I would not be so excited, compared to you desktop. You can install OSX on it but you may not like its performance, IMO.

    So glad you're here now!

So... now that I have an Intel available (I don't even want windows on it), how can I install regular old leopard onto it? I still have the ideneb download..

I knew all the steps for AMD, but not for intel! Do I still need to burn a dvd to get it to run on the Intel? I tried the USB card method earlier, but the hd helper installer always said the card was not empty, even after deleting the files that the other program put on it to creat the MBR

    Hi,
It would be better if you use DVD to boot the installation process. I thought that you want SL on your AMD desktop? That installation guide required a running OSX on the same computer to make it simple. Transferring the image from one to another computer may not work without additional steps though.
The Intel installation is similar. If it works on AMD then it should on Intel providing everything is equal ???LOL
    Regards,

True... I have to get the DVDs now anyway (found that out right before I came back), so I might as well make the native one on the AMD like I was originally going to do

Glad you cleared that up for me!

Wow.. I was just about to say, well I'm going to wipe the windows install off the Toshiba so that will be a macbook... but I have a DV7 w/blu ray sitting right next to it, why the heck would I care about the TOS? LOL Intel had me excited I guess.

Yeah I want SL on the desktop, laptop, and maybe netbook (acer aspire one 532h LOL). Guess I'll go get some DVDs or DVD rws now LOL and get the retail tomorrow (if I want to have iLife and iWork on at least 2 pcs, would I just want to get the family box that includes OS X?)

    Hi,
I would not worry about iLife for now, I guess, LOL. I would just get the DVD going, backup your desktop etc (or use a spare drive to experiment with OSX) just in case something goes wrong and there is a chance that you won't be able to get back to windows on that desktop (not after some additional works). Then follow the first part of the guide, install Leopard section, and then worry about your retail DVD (or you could just find a copy to try first, then purchase it afterward).
    Regards,
