Question (NEW INSTALL) OSX 10.6.8 HP Pro 3000MT. Everything's working but Ethernet !!!!

    Hey all,

First I just want to clarify I am completely new to OSX/Hackintosh.
Please excuse my newb-ness in the terms I'm about to use, and please feel free to correct me as it will help.

    Ok,

I have installed retail copy of OS Snow Leopard 10.6 on my Hp Pro 3000MT.
I did this using the iboot + MultiBeast method.

    Booted with iBoot CD
    Booted 10.6 Retail DVD
    Partitioned/Erased drive for install
    Installed Snow Leopard 10.6
    Rebooted
Once at desktop opened 10.6.8 combo update and opened MultiBeast
Ran 10.6.8 Combo Update, Did not reboot.
Ran Multibeast, Ticked the EasyBeast, System Utilities, and Voodoo HDA audio driver.
    Rebooted

Boots fine without iBoot every time.
    Audio and Video are good.
    No Kernal Panic.

This is my Hardware (To the best of my knowledge)

System Board Processor Socket T; LGA775 industry standard Micro ATX form factor
Support single Intel Core 2 Duo and Core 2 Quad, or Pentium dual-core
    processors
    Chipset Intel G45S Express
    Intel I/O Controller Hub 10 (ICH10R)
Front Side Bus Frequency 800/1066/1333 MHz
    Memory DDR3 SDRAM
    4 x DIMM slots
Integrated Graphics Intel Graphics Media Accelerator (GMA) X4500HD
Audio Realtek ALC662 HD Audio compatible codec with two channel audio 3D
audio compliant with AC'97 rev. 2.3
    LOM Realtek RTL8111DL
    Storage Four Serial ATA interfaces
Expansion Slots 1 x PCI Express x1 slots
    1 x PCI Express x16 slot
    2 X PCI
    BIOS SPI FLASH ROM
    Industrial Standard PCIe compliant
    USB 2.0

However everything I've tried to install the network/Nic kext(s) has failed.

As posted above to the best of my knowledge the LAN on motherboard is the Realtek RTL8111DL. (Please feel free to correct me if I am wrong)

I have tried multiple things but I'll just outline two here that should have worked.

Before each method below I did a new install of OSX using the above method.

    First,
    KextBeast and RealtekR1000.kext

I put KextBeast and RealtekR1000.kext on the desktop alone and ran kextbeast.
    Reboot

Nothing. System Preferences/Network shows no ethernet

Next, I tried a different utility with that same kext,
Used the Drag RealtekR1000 to Kext Utility method and same as above, nothing.

(I tried quite a few more methods but I won't outline those now because these should work)

    Lastly,

I used the Lnx2Mac Realtek RTL81xx driver as recommended at TonyMacx86.
As it is just a utility I followed the prompts and rebooted.

    Again, Same results not recognized.

I understand that others have gotten this Ethernet port working nicely and I know that the port is working b/c I am able to boot windows on same hardware just different HDD and it works.

I am quite frustrated as I have (embarrassingly) gone through the install process at least 10 times.

If you can offer any help I would appreciate it very much.

    Thank you for looking/your help.

    Hey everybody,

    I got it working !!!
I am typing this now from my Hackintosh desktop.

How I did it was resetting the CMOS and BIOS.
Once this was done and the BIOS settings were reconfigured for OSX it works perfectly.

The weird thing is that the onboard LAN setting and its option were both on before and now so it was something else.

If anyone could explain that to me I would appreciate it .

Thank you for the help.( In other posts lol )

Default Congrats on your Install, This will be my first.

Any performance rating with your current setup (like "geekbench" for example).

I am looking to do the same with my HP PRO 3000 MT and would really like to know how the performance

would compare to my PowerMac G5 and also how it would compare to an older Mac Pro.

Any suggestions on a video card upgrade?

Also any hang ups you might have encountered since your last post would help.
