Exclamation new here, help with SL

hi im new here and are looking to install 10.6 (have dmg restored to usb pen drive) on a windows HP Media Center a1224n with all default specs. here they are:

    PROCESSOR: Pentium4 519 (P) 3.06 GHz:
    533 MHz front side bus
    Socket 775

    CHIPSET:
    Intel 915GV

    MOTHERBOARD:
    Manufacturer: Asus
    Motherboard Name: PTGD-LA
    HP/Compaq motherboard name: Goldfish3-GL8E

There is a 200gb hard drive and 1gb of RAM.

I get to the apple boot logo screen (booting from install usb) but it gets stuck there with no loading wheel. I could not find BIOS settings for AHCI, or the S3 power supply. I was following this guide: http://lifehacker.com/5360150/instal...cking-required. I have a mac available to do command line etc.

these are the steps followed so far:

    1. Partition and format the USB stick, restore install cd to it (tested on my mac, works fine).
    2. Run the package thing available for download.
    3. Change BIOS settings (ran into trouble here, couldn't find AHCI settings or S3 power settings).
    4. Boot from USB
    5. STUCK AT APPLE LOGO!!!!!

any help greatly appreciated and thx in advance,

    mrwall_E

p.s. if my request is stupid or i should have looked at a certain post before posting please forgive me...

    Hi there,
You could boot with boot options -x -v for possible verbose error message to see where it stuck.

The package from that guide is for P45 chipsets. Yours is 915, so some files there are not compatible if particularly pertaining to the board.

    Cheers

Thx so much for replying. exactly how do you boot into verbose? sorry for my ignorance, but all the other directions i've seen to boot into verbose haven't worked...
I've heard of pressing F8, holding down command-v, etc. but none work.

    Thx again

    Maybe you've not researched enough
Entering boot option has not change for a long time.

At Darwin/Chameleon boot screen, with a blue bar countdown, press any key then enter your bootflag, then press enter. Without countdown, press F8, then the sequence.
