First before anything, I have made a very simular post in the OS X Lion section but because its a new OS and the lack of people in that forum section, I am posting in OS X snow leapord section. It still applies to the topic because if i can't get leopard running I am going to at least try to get snow leopard up and going!

So I currently have a 2008 unibody macbook 13" with OS X Lion (10.7.2) that i was using mainly for school. However, I am not satisfied for the money i payed for with the specs (gecrap 9400m can't even play bf3 w/ all the tweaks) I no longer need the portability so I am selling it for around $600 to $700. With that approx $700 budget and my first paying job , I'm going to make a small portable gaming rig that can dual boot a hackintosh system. The Mac OS has grown on me and I like to use it for music production, editing, browsing, itunes etc, so if i'm using pc hardware i want to make sure everything will go as planned and smoothly.

This post is very important to me and I am asking for the hackint0sh communities advice on mainly what motherboard would best support a cracked OS X Lion install and if any of the hardware I have picked may cause problems or conflict with this build. I am buying all the hardware from the long-loved Newegg.com.

Mobo options (NOTE: has to be micro-ATX board, support SLI and a socket that supports quad processors such as i5's i7's)

After doing some additional research I found a more rounded, supported micro-atx motherboard incase anybody was wondering. I decided to go with the EVGA x58 micro SLI with the LGA 1366 socket even though the older i7 generation are much more expensive compared to the new sandy bridge processors (which to my understanding, arn't fully supported in hackintosh without a lot of tweaking). The motherboard itself is $50 to $75 bucks cheaper and i knocked off around $35 from lowering the ram speeds from 2133 to 1600 mhz due to computability with the mobo so it compensates for the more expensive processor. I am ready to build my hackintosh after my first paycheck! wish me luck!

that sounds like a great system. close to what im planning to build. out of curiosity though, why mini atx? nothing wrong with em, theyre just odd lookin. haha
