    Default Need install help, please

    Hello, everyone.

I'm new here and glad to be here.

    I'm trying to install Snow Leopard (retail)on a Dell Latitude D830 with a Centrino Duo. It's a 32-bit machine.

I want it to be a MAC OSX machine only....no Window's allowed!

Well, I tried iBoot and then the Snow Leopard disk which was recognized, then it went into a kernel panic.

Since then, when I boot up with iBoot, it no longer recognizes Snow Leopard. I've even done a reformat.

I did the change to ACHI, but can't set the HPET to 64-bit since it's a 32-bit machine.

How can I get my laptop to be a fully functioning MAC OSX machine?

Anything you'd care to share would be most appreciated.

    Thanks!

In your case, i suggest you start with the distro like iDeneb or iAtkos or Hazzard, those are some that are easier to work with. So get one, and learn to find the customize that match your hardware. when you know what kernel , kexts and patches for your laptop then you can try retail installation of osx with that customized kit of yours.

    good luck.
