After many tries, the installation still doesn't start. I won't give up until someone who knows what he's talking about tells me it was impossible.
But I have to take care of some other things in life.
Until august, i'll have to reduce the time spent with this project from about 6hrs/day to 4hrs/week. I'll still check this and some other forums daily, try any suggestions and write about what happened. This will work one day

    @ratvn:
    1. Do you think I should try to make an image of the hfs-part only?
    2. I also felt like many users would install without dsdtpatches and patch it after the installation. I only didn't know where I could start to fix, so I tried dsdt...
    3. what do you mean with "OSX patches" for the RetailDVD? Where can I read more about this?
    4. It looks like the whole verbose was only about loading kexts until the error. The myhack/chameleon-background is gone and the font changes, then there's the error message.
5/6. Hm you're right, I didn't think about that yet. Now I tried Voodoo.kexts. Is this how I should do it? I'm having a little trouble understanding the descriptions on kexts.com... Maybe I can find the legacy kext, too. So OS10 will never run with vanilla, will it?
    7. Thanks. I always use -v and sometimes tried -x -f, too. What does busratio=20 do?
    8. I thought the only problem for OS10 was, that it is not a Macbook. I'm not sure if I got what you wanted to tell me. I'm sorry, I try, my english is not bad i think but it still isn't my mother language...

You're doing very well if English is not your first language

That many hours are too much to get this going. When I have more times than there will be more explanation, but for now, I have a quick suggestion for you.

If you could try some distro releases to get OSX installed and optimize it closer to vanilla system then it would be a better way to do.

The two releases that I recommend to try are SnowOSX v3.6 10.6.2 or iAtkos S3 v2 10.6.3.

Another member just posted a guide/video on iAtkos S3 right in this section, so it may be your best shot for installation.

If it's a lucky day then you would be cruising within 30 min, on OSX. So try to get those copies and give it a shot.

If everything would still fail then..... well, we'll think about it later.

Good luck and keep me posted.

(Again splitting not to doublepost, but for avaoiding loss of written text)

Oups!! I should have used rd=disk1s1, as this is my boot device (sillyme)

Okay!! "boot: rd=disk1s1 cpus=1 busratio=20 -v" lead to a black screen with an OS X Mousecursor!! I can't do anything, but I never got this far. Enough excitement to motivate me for some more weeks!

    now first boot w/o -v
    boot: rd=disk1s1 -f

hm seems like it won't work without cpu=1 and busratio=20

    now booting with
boot: rd=disk1s1 (what causes the need of this?) cpu=1 busratio=20
external usb mouse lets me move the cursor, nothing else, rotating colourful ball since ~10mins. Will wait for another 20mins

You should always boot with -x -v (safe mode, verbose respectively) until getting into OSX. -x almost needed for installation and load/unload kexts. Netbookmaker may not be the bootloader you wanted.

rd= root device , if you need this: there is problem with SATA/PATA controller Drivers from the DVD or BootCD.

-f force cache rebuilt, mostly use only after getting into OSX

busratio=20 force system core hardware (very vague).

cpus=1 mostly for installation preboot/system, sometimes needed for kernel issue.

The black screen with a cursor is good though, that plus/minus some boot options could be your ticket. The black screen could be video kext related too.

So your boot option can be tailored, maybe this

-x -v cpus=1 then add others in if needed.

    See how it goes

Only add in rd= if you see waiting for root device, and there is no other way.
It means that OSX could not find your hdd (or USB hdd) by all the drivers/kexts loaded. Your hdd is non-existent to it, which is not good to use rd anyway even if you installed OSX, it will not boot correctly due to driver issue (95% of the times).

Again, those boot options only for installation mostly.
After you got OSX with all the kexts/drivers properly in place, most of those won't be needed. Remember, installation process is OSX loaded with certain drivers premade for certain hardware which may include yours but not always.

Default Ouh sorry, many new questions now...

?!? somehow it works now without rd
boot -v -x cpus=1 leads to the black screen with the os x loading- curser, movable with an external mouse. (Touchpad doesn't work yet, but I can face this after a succesful installation can't I?)
I'm not sure if it really is black. If it is, then brightnes is set very high from this point on, but it doesn't look like the osx-splashscreens grey either..
Now I have to find information on how to get past this^^
What should I do now e.g. about the video kexts? To me it always seemed like all known kexts were inside iAtkos. As it is on USB, it should not be a problem to add some.
What does it mean that it goes that far now? Are there things I don't have to think about anymore?
You once suggested to use another kernel because of the SU4100. How can I decide which kernel it uses for the installation?

btw: Is there a reason to try SnowOSX if I already try iAtkos?

How did you boot your USB, with Netbookmaker? That could be the problem because it's premade with kext/boot system for netbook specifically, as S3 was made to boot with Chameleon. And like other Unix, it does passes commands to kernel/system for booting process.
It's best to burn S3 DVD to install as the preboot process is very important to installation of a unknown hardware system. It only takes a regular single layer DVD, very cheap and will save you lot of headaches.

For apple mac-pc, the models are limited with particular hardware configuration, so installation process are premade with certain list of drivers/system files.
For non-mac pc hardware, the configuration are numbers, and there is no way a premade set of drivers/system/boot could work on every one of them. So certain distro releases, and certain preboot/drivers (Netbookmaker, EmpireEFI, iBoot etc.) are made/geared toward a group of hardwares which will work on yours if the configuration suffices.

That is why you should also try v3.6 SnowOSX DVD if S3 failed after all options.

    Then try -x -v busratio=20 cpus=1
The best kernel in S3 for your system could be 10.6.3 Legacy for intel/amd, that kernel is super as currently used in my system, very solid.
