MBP 13" 64-bit
Just installed SL on a MacBook Pro 13" (MachineID MacBookPro5,5) from scratch (replaced HD) and configured the boot file to startup only in 64-bit mode.
It run smooth, no issue at all.
I excluded Rosetta, X11, all the printer drivers, extra languages, QuickTime and weight about 8Gbs.
I'm slowly installing all my apps to check the compatibility.
Also the main printer driver works fine (Xerox and Samsung) and the Apple software update recognize them during its sw update checks.
I'm impressed about stability an responsiveness of the system; Finder overall.
Nice job, Steve!
Thx for sharing this info steve ;D

I just wrote a new post about this same topic over here which might have been the wrong place to put it.
I've been trying to use the information located at the link posted in various places to boot the x86_64 kernel on my Macbook Air Rev. B (2,1) without much luck.
Has there been any additional work done on this?
Snow Leopard with 6GB RAM
Hi, i installed 6GB of Ram to my PC (GA-Ep35-DS4) with Core2Duo E6750 64Bit processor, 8800GTX video and my mac doesn't read only 4GB of RAM.
In system profiler on memory page it shows all banks online with the informations from all memory modules (2x1GB and 2x2GB installed).
I searched the net and found that i have 32Bit EFI and i need 64Bit EFI on my system.
My question is, how can i make from 32Bit EFI to 64Bit EFI? How can i install Snow Leopard with 64Bit EFI? I installed from the Retail DVD 10.6 10A432 build.
I want to benefit from 6GB of memory.
Please, any ideeas?
I know how to switch from 32 to 64 boot mode with the apps, i know how to verify if i have 32Bit EFI or 64Bit EFI, i know how to edit com.apple.boot.plist but what i don't know is how to get the 64Bit Kernel...how to make 64Bit EFI appear in terminal when i type the command: ioreg -l -p IODeviceTree | grep firmware-abi ???
Please someone HELP.
