If you followed that guide completely, and have the provided extra folder in place. try repairing permissions on it, because the kext in it are not getting loaded. This is fixed by installing NullCPUPowerManagment.kext. But you'll have other kernel panics if the stuff isn't all there properly.

I'm getting the same kernel panic. How do I repair permissions on a flash drive? It's greyed out in Disk Utility?

I am following the same guide and stuck at the install screen.

panic (cpu 0 caller 0xffffff80002bfb6f): " should have 4 threads, but only found 5 for Die0"

I tried messing with BIOS limiting HT and cores but none seems to work. I am on a i7 920 CPU.

Default tried to use addtional kext. file no luck yet question

I added the file NullCPUPowerManagment.kext into the extras file on the USB key. did nothing elese but mno luck yet still kernel panick.

Do i need to chnage any thing else to allow the filew to be used??

i also used the Finder to check the permissions on the extra folder and the files i allowed everyone to have read/write access.

    any other suggestions???

    thanks for the help.
