So here is the case, I have been trying to install Ideneb v1.4 10.6. for two days already.

I have a 80G HD Sata Hitachi internal I currently have two partitions one for Win Vista Home Pre and a second partition for Mac OS X.

I get as far as installing and getting the installation success screen the notebook shuts down with the DVD still inside the Drive, when the notebook reboots I get the following:

When I select AMD Patch:
Notebook reboots and 5 seconds into the gray boot screen my notebook shuts down and the process is repeated automatically until I do a hard turn off.

When I select Voodoo Kernel:
Notebook gets to gray boot screen then this messages pops up and freeezes.



Any help or information would be great guys. Thanks for reading and for the help in advance.

I suggest Ideneb Lite 1.6 10.5.8 and select Voodoo/Qoopz 9.8 kernel.

Ok I will look for it download it and try that one.. the way I have my partitions have nothing to do with it not loading right? Sorry this is the first time I try to do this kind of programming..

Hi,
No, I don't think so.
If you're able to boot OSX using Chameleon, which apparently you did, then your partition/disk scheme is already correct for OSX going to its boot process.
Also the recommended kernel is mostly for Athlon, and with yours, you can try it first, if not then select the legacy AMD.

I saw the screen for the drivers and it has voodoo 9.8 kernel than Qoopz 9.8 kernel but they are not together do I have to pick one of the two or do I select both of them?

Also the rest of the drivers do I install the ones that correpenond to my notebook or do I just select the Voodoo or Qoopz kernel?

According to your KP screenshot you need AppleACPIPlatform.kext. You can grab it here link. Hope this helps and Welcome to Hackint0sh.

OK so how do I install those kexts? Do the downloads come with instructions? Sorry its my first time doing some programing so I am not sure how to do all this formula inputting.

For curiosity, I also tried the one from kexts.com, but that did not work for x64, 10.6.3 SL.

You will need to copy it to E/E (Extra/Extensions) repair permissions and rebuild Extensions.Mkext.

Here's how to repair permissions and rebuild Mkext

Code:

sudo chown -R 0:0 /Extra
sudo chmod -R 755 /Extra
kextcache -v 1 -t -m /Extra/Extensions.mkext /Extra/Extensions/

Hitting enter after each line. After you can boot Leopard you can use Kext Helper b7 (get it @ Kexts.com) to install Kext and repair permissions for you automatically. Gotta run but hope this helps .

Thanks for the instructions I will try that if everything else fails.... so as long as I can boot OS X and get as far as the grey boot screen I can use the kext ? because I dont get any further than the grey screen.

Right now I am waiting for my DVD to finish burning the ideneb that ratvn suggested me to use. I am following all of the instructions given to me that came along with the torrent. I am burning it at 2.4x which is the slowest my drive will go. I will try this first if not I will follow the instructions given by you DJ.
