Both are working (HP DV7t 3100CT and The Sony Vaio). The HP comes in a 18" screen while Sony comes with a 16" screen. I like both of them and as you may know it takes time to fix their issues. The Sony VAIO has a problem with the battery, it drain to quick and I'm working to fix it. Apple has released an updated "AppleSmartBatteryManager.kext" for MacBook Pro, I might use it to fix that issue.

In a hackintosh PC not every feature work 100%, sometimes one hardware is not supported by MacOS, for instance, The DV7 comes with Video remote control, that doesn't work.

Mac OS version 10.6.3 (Latest update)

I will send you later the link that show you how to install Mac OS (Vanilla Kernel) on Intel i7 processor.

    Question

So, based on what you said, can I go ahead and place a order for the Sony VAIO VPC-F1190 or the HP dv7t or 8t. Are you sure the Sony VAIO VPC-F1190 with GT 330M can output to the LCD with CI/QE hardware accelerated and not to an external monitor only? The Sony VAIO also has an option to do Full HD (1920x1080). I think from what you're saying, this resolution is supported in the vanilla install. Also, the dv7t comes with GT 320M and dv8t comes with GT 230M. Are both supported with vanilla install? Sorry to ask you questions that are more specific. I wanted to make sure the purchase I make is worth spending in doing a vanilla install of Snow Leopard.

Btw, did you try running CineBench to see your numbers?

    Thanks.

    Question

    Hi ExtraSpeed,

Would you be able to help me out in making a buying decision? I'm still inclined to the Sony VAIO model as it has a got a better GPU. I definitely believe that you would be able to fix the battery and HDMI issues on the Sony VAIO model.

Anxiously waiting for your reply along with a tutorial or a link.

    Thanks.

could you tell me how you managed to install SL on SONY VPCF11NFX/H?
    I have the VPCF11JFX/B, almost identical (6GB/4GB, Blu-ray burner/DVD burner).
I tried many guides and no results so far, please help me out.
Does Atheros 9287 work under SL?

A step by step guide, instructions and necessary kexts would be nice.

    Hi Extraspeed,

I have finally managed to get the F11Z1E's GT330M full resolution and full accelerated but on external display. I need the internal one. My knowledge and experience in Hackint0sh is very limited (about a month).

Please help me on this. Maybe I need some .boot or dstd files???

    I would appreciate your help!!!

I managed with leohazard (client server), updated to 10.6.3, used Chameleon Anv's ACPI Loader, Chameleon2.0rc5-pre7, installed MacBrooPro Updated and used boot flag PciRootUID=1 for booting.

My problems are with the PciRoot=1 PciRootUID=1 bootflags and GraphicsEnabler=Yes...... I am confused, once boots and I have the internal display once the external, ones accelerated on the external once half accelerated ....but never full resolution and full acceleration on the internal display.

I know that Extraspeed has the knowledge and experience...

    Please help

Well, That's a big step. I haven't manage to fix the HDMI issue that I have on both laptops DV7t and VAIO) and others issues as well. every time I switch to external display it freezes up. I had tried different approaches and most of the time I get kernel panic. that's why I haven't post anything on tutorial. As you may know trying fixing this issues take some time and patience.

Have you installed "Cuda driver for Mac"? as you know the 320-30M comes with cuda. there's cuda driver released from Nvidia that you can use. I did installed Cuda driver for mac 2.3.1a and cuda tool kit 3.0.

also, did you upgraded the all the GeForce kext from the Macbook pro update? if you don't have them let me know and I'll upload them for you!

Does you VAIO has any Battery issues? Mine drains too fast.

Thumbs up NVIDIA GeForce GT 330M

Today I managed to fix the HDMI issues and I have no longer a screen freeze where using HDMI. I modified "NVinject.kext" and now I have 1600 x 900 resolution on both (TV and Laptop). It fixed the issue on DV7t and VAIO. The only thing I need to fix is that it shows "512MB" instead of 1G of VRAM. The Nvidia 330m has a vendor id "0x10de" and the device is "0a2d". Is a work in progress.

I also managed to fixed the fan issues on DV7t by installing "AppleACPIThermal.kext" and no more Heat (that's one of the problems with i7-720QM processor. you can check every forum and most people complaint about the heat that comes from the processor's area). to my surprised the processor work cooler on Snow Leopard than does it on Windows 7. I also fixed the Battery issue, now change normally.

I'm going to upload the modified NVinject.kext and maybe that would fix your issues.

    Hi Extra Speed,

    Thats wonderful news!!!

I'm inclined more towards the Sony VAIO model. With this exciting news, I think a tutorial is overdue. for n00bs like me.
Your reply is more focused towards the HP dv7t. Does it all apply to the VAIO models too? The VAIO is having Full HD (1920x1080). But, you're mentioning 1600x900. Please advice.

I wanted to make sure all works and the VAIO is running cool to touch with vanilla SL and the video is ouput to the internal display.

    Please reply.

    Thanks.

Well, I just can work on one laptop at the time, even thought their have a similar issues.

I'm sure we all wants to hackintosh that works 100% but in most cases that's not the case. most people ain't that lucky. I have installed Snow leopard OS many times before and every time I found something that can't be fix.

    Let's see what happens!
