I've been lucky so far to get an old pc to run Mac OS X but being AMD processor its impossible to update. So I've got hold of a new gigabyte ga-g31m-es2l motherboard and a Intel Core 2 Quad Q8300 processor. I've got a copy of OS X snow leopard retail, now I need to know how I get it to install in this system. Your help would be appreciated

After some messing I managed to get 10.5.7 running on the computer, the sound doesn't work and I had to put an old network card in to post this. I'm not sure if to bother updating it to Snow Leopard. I did try the disk and it says it will install from this configuration. I need to know if it will work, because it was hard work getting this version to work.

Anyone know how to get an old soundblaster sound card to work, it recognized the firewire connection but no sound?

Thanks MB94, I downloaded the EMPIRE EFI boot disk and now after some difficult hours later have snow leopard up and running with sound, network and graphics working.
