Installing snow leopard on a HP dv6000
Hi Guys,

1.79ghz c2d
2gb RAM
Nvidia geforce GO 7400
100gb hdd
intel 3945 a/b/g
intel pro ve 100 lan
i followed this guide: http://lifehacker.com/5351485/how-to...tart-to-finish
and when attempting to boot from my external drive i get to either just before the install window pops up and the mouse cursor freezes, or i get to the apple logo and it tells me i need to restart my pc.
can anyone shed any light on why this may be happening?

Same here
I have an ASUS M70Sa laptop, and I'm getting a similar error. The errors I'm getting are these:
Kernel Extensions in backtrace (with dependencies): com.apple.iokit.IOATAFamily(2.5.0)-->lots of hex code.
Mac OS version:
Not yet set
I'm also following the lifehacker instructions.
I was once able to get the Kalyway 10.5.2 install in place as a 2nd partition in a dual boot with Ubuntu, but after my Ubuntu install shat the bed, I had to move the partitions around in order to re-install. Since then I've had no luck getting Kalyway 10.5.2, 10.5.5, or the new Snow Leopard to install.
I've tried using the cpus=1 -x flags, but no dice. And with the new chameleon, I can't figure out how to get to a boot prompt where I can enter them. Any help would be appreciated.
Incidentally, I'm thinking of picking up a new Quad-Core laptop: HP® Official Store — Buy an HP Pavilion dv7-2180us Entertainment Notebook PC, espresso black (NV022UA#ABA) from HP
Anyone had luck with this baby?
