Hi all,

I am looking to install SL on a revived Dell 700m after Windows 7 is not fully supported [video]. I installed using Prasys on a fujitsu before but was hoping for some good guidance on getting SL on the 700m

Several attempts last night using EmpireEFI [v1.0-1.085] and SL install DVD on USB key failed me..

Seems more than a few have this notebook and have tried in the past.
What works / fails?
Do you need wall power when booting up [read this somewhere]
Is it worthwhile- i have a couple of MBP [e and the wife] but would be nice to have another mac for the kids to play with - plus it is fun making it work.

I would also be very interested in a a guide for the Dell Inspiron 700m. I'm assuming Snow Leopard would be the latest installable OSX version... hoping to get to 10.6.8 at the least if possible. If some others with some knowledge could help us out with a guide that would be fantastic!
I've seen posts with people getting everything working including wireless, however on 10.4 or 10.5 etc...

I have not been so lucky. I had used the 10.5.2 Kalyway using this guide. however... 1024x600, Wi-Fi, USB not working, prevented me from moving forward, and figured I'd be hosed for updates into the 10.6 path...

Please help if you can share some wisdom on this Centrino based Dell Inspiron 700m
