First of all, Im completely new to the OSX scene, I have worked with mac's before, but not on the tweaking and installing side.

I want to install Snow Leopard on my PC. I searched this forum, and multiple other sites, and I was blown away by the number of custom distro's, bootloaders etc... I've currently got Windows 7 installed, and I plan to install OSX on a separate harddrive (the 160GB maxtor one) while unplugging the other two. This is to see how OSX runs before I start messing with dual booting. From what I've read so far I will need some custom drivers.

I'm currently downloading a OSX install disk (the "official" retail) for testing purposes, to make sure it works before I go out and buy a real one.
Most of the guides I've found require me to have a mac, which i DON'T have access to.

I found this guide GA-EP45-UD3L Snow Leopard Install Guide v1.0 for Newbies - InsanelyMac Forum, which works on the Gigabyte EP45-UD3L. Since it has the same chipset (P45) as my mainboard, would it work? Also, which KEXTs or EFi strings do I need to get everything working?

What do you guys recommend? Which guide should I follow?
