Default Installing OSX on Alienware Area51 desktop

    Hi all.

I have been trying various methods of installing mac OSX on my alienware desktop box, but have not managed to get very far!

I have dried iDeneb, and iAtkos, and both have the same problem:

I can boot from the CD ok, but when I should get the installer menu (I have seen and been through this trying to install on other machines - also without luck!), the machine just restarts.

Any help or advice would be great!

Also, has anyone seen if any of the OSX installations work on the Alienware desktop machines? Are there any guides online?

    Thanks in advance!

    Ed

Am I the only person who has experienced this problem?

i.e. system reboots before any menu, with ALL different OSX disks tried?

    Cheers

I have the same issue as well, I get to the point where it will just sit there with a message that says "waiting for root device", I have been speaking to a friend and he says when it says that it is having problem detecting your HDD. I have been looking through so many forums but no one seem to have an answer, another suggestion was made that it may be our Area 51 motherboard which is causing the issue as we all know the Mobo on an Alien is a custom board from Dell, in the bios it shows our SATA devices as 1-6 but I was informed that when install OSX it is looking for a HDD on SATA 0 location.
