    Default Installing iAtkos 10.6.3.S£ v2 on Dell Insprion 1520

    Hi all,

    Looking for tips on doing this as a clean and only install on my laptop.

    Firstly, I'd like to confirm I've done all the suggested BIOS adjustments for SATA drives, boot priority etc.

    I got the iso and burnt to disc. I load it up and it runs fine without any errors or issues. I then run it and it takes me to the OSX install screens. I then use Disk Utility to format my hard drive etc. I then customize the install options (only choosing the ones I think are needed for my components).

    Then, the installation process begins and takes about 20 minutes. Then, it auto-restarts after it's shown me the big green tick saying it's successfully completed.

    The problem is, when Chameleon starts up again, it has my Snow Leopard drive there. However, the problem is that if I choose it it just restarts again straight away.

    If I use -x it goes to the grey apple screen.

    If I use -v -x it runs through pages of text before flashing one about "No DSDT something or other", with a line or two underneath it (flashes too quick for me to read it) and then restarts again.

    Seem to be stuck at this part. Tried installing just the base package as a minimal install but same problems.

    Any ideas?

    According to this HCL page, my laptop's core components are compatible with 10.6.6, which is where I'm trying to head to.

    My system runs:

    CPU: Intel Celeron M 540 1.86GHz
    Motherboard: Del Inspiron 1520
    RAM: 2GB RAM
    HDD: 80GB
    Graphics: Intel 965 Express Chipset Family GMA X3100
    Audio Controller: Sigmatel 9205 High Definition Audio Controller
    IDE Controller: Intel ICH8M
    USB Controller: Intel ICH8 Family
    WLAN: Dell 1390 Wireless Mini Card
    Ethernet: Broadcom 440x 10/100 Intergrated
    Modem: HDA CX11270 Soft Modem
    Card Reader: Ricoh Controller

    What I checked (mostly from memory and sketched notes) from the install options were:

    * iAtkos S3 Main System
    * Bootloader > PC_EFI v10.6
    * Bootloader Options > 32-bit boot
    * Bootloader Options > Graphics Enabler
    * Bootloader Options > -pci
    * Patches > /Extra Directory
    * Patches > fakesmc
    * Patches > disabler
    * Patches > RTL > RTL
    * Patches > Modified Kernels > qoopz 10.3.0
    * Patches > EVO Reboot
    * Patches > USB
    * Patches > UUID
    * Drivers > Main Hardware > SATA/IDE > AHCI SATA
    * Drivers > Main Hardware > Sound > Voodoo HDA
    * Drivers > Main Hardware > PS/2 > VoodooPS2
    * Drivers > Maine Hardware > CPU Power Management > Voodoo P-State
    * Drivers > Main Hardware > Laptop > Battery
    * Drivers > Main Hardware > Laptop > Card Reader
    * Drivers > VGA > Intel > EFI String
    * Drivers > VGA > Intel > Natit (32-bit)
    * Drivers > Network > Wired > Broadcom > BCM440x

    I just tried the same again, changing VoodooHDA to AppleHDA, VoodooPS2 to ApplePS2, Leaving out Graphics Enabler and -pci. However, I now get the "staying alive" music but nothing on screen. I had this last time, but when music finished and I moved mouse pad, the registration screens popped up taking me through to the desktop. However, now that doesn't work,.

    At least I'm narrowing it down! Gonna try again now using AppleHDA but using VoddoPS2.

    Also, what does the Graphics Enabler do exactly? Will I need it with an Intel X3100?
