    Default Installation Freeze

    Hi everyone

    I am seeking some help with the following.

    I am using iBoot. I have disconnected everything except my usb keyboard and a free hard drive and my dvd.

    I ran it with -v and got this message
    ACPI_SMC_PlatformPlugin::start - waitforservice(timedout)
    disk6: locti(IOR, 'd' ,79,4) is unsupported.

    Please help me - I have pulled too many all nighters trying to get it installed.
    I have a Retail 10.6.3 Snow Leopard Install Disc.

    (Looking at other videos it hangs just prior to entering the OSX installation screen)

    I'm here all night - any questions just ask

    Hi,

    might seem a bit odd. but do you have a VGA out on your mobo?
    IF so then rip you graphics card out and then try install just with the guts of your machine.

    Suppose you know how to install with iboot?
    # Enable AHCI from your BIOS
    # Insert your iboot CD, boot from it, then wait 15 secs. Remove the CD and then insert your snow lepard. Wait 15 secs and then Press F5. And you should see the CD image. Then just press enter.

    Make sure your boot order is CD/ DVD first. Check if your op drive is DL compatible.

    Hi Jimmy

    Thanks for your reply. I don't think I have a VGA out on my mobo. I just don't know what else to try to be honest....
