Hello all,

I have a gateway (i7) desktop and a HP pavilion dv9000 notebook

I'm tired of trying to get Snow leopard via iATKOS7 on to my notebook without success so I am asking anybody (i'm in Toronto Canada),

if you can get SL on my HP fully working with wireless internet then I will Pay you money?

I have any and all of the software needed I just need someone to either do it or help me to do it and I am more then willing to pay.

Just to be clear, I want to install it on the HP laptop not on the desktop for now untill I get more formiliar with Mac OS and then later I will add it to my gateway.

the specs of my hp pavilion dv9000 are;

HP Pavilion dv9000
Vista 32
CPU; AMD Turion 64x2 mobile TL-50 (sse+sse2+sse3+x86-64) 1.6Ghz
bus speed 200mhz
Memory; 4GB DDR2 (4096Mbytes) (1.8volts)
Motherboard; Quanta model; 30B9 Bios; version F.42
Nvidia chipset Geforce 6150 (graffics card)
149gb sata hard drive

Can't find my AMD modified ToH RC2 disk so i will need a link for that

dual boot or not, does not matter too me.

Anybody up for the challenge?

I would offer to help you but I don't live in Canada. Unless you want to ship the laptop to me.

Snow Leopard is not approved yet (for hacking), you may try Leopard instead.
Try on Gateway and not HP.
Do not send your Laptop to anyone.
If you really want a Mac, why not buy it instead of wasting all these hours, unless you want to have fun.
At the end you may not have sound, internet and real graphic quality.
I have did it with Tiger on a USB external HD and it was just fun.
If you like I can send you the Links.

Also OSX is only installable on main drive and not Partitions. So No Dual boot.

The laptop has 2x 150gig drives so the no dual boot is not a problem, besides chameleon 2 will take care of that part.

I cant afford a mac or else i would buy one.

i didnt know there was a difference between leopard and snow leopard which explains why it did not work when I followed the guide to installing a retail version of leopard. (i have snow leopard on dvd and not leopard)

Okay all, Here is the update on my progress.

I finally got Snow leopard installed on my PC (Yay) I was not able to get it working on my Laptop but it installed like a breeze on my desktop.

Next I will tell you what I did, what my Desktop spects are and what problems I'm now having;

My desktop is a Gateway Fx Series
CPU: i7 2.7ghz
Hard Drives: 1 TB sata (Windows 7) and 1x 160gb sata The snow leopard is on the 160 gig drive
Memory: 12 GB DDR3 1066MHz Ram

ok enough with the spects,

I downloaded Empire EFI to begin the process then i used a retail copy of Snow leopard v10.6 for the install then once the Mac OS was running I immeadiately made a backup on an 8gb usb stick.

Problems; no sound...no internet (wired or wireless)...software only sees 4 cores off the CPU processor shows as 2.7 GB Unknown

I'm afraid to shut it down because I don't think it will boot back up.

My Questions now are:

What exactly are Kexts?
How do I add KEXTS?
what kext or package is needed now to get audio and internet?
what is needed now to reboot? (I have chemeleon 2 for the reboot)
do i always need a boot disk everytime i want to run either OS?

(I have both Windows 7 and Snow leopard on the same PC BTW)


MY main goal now is to get the internet working.

Please anybody can you through some advice my way?

try 64bit voodooHDA.kext for audio.

www.kexts.com ( downloaded the recompiled one)

and if you could give me some more information, about your wifi card

I just tried that Kext and now I can't boot into MAC OS

How do I take away a Kext?

I used Kext Helper to inject it into the system!!!
