iATKOS S3 Version 2 on
I´m a Newbee and tried several times to install a mac OS to my PC. Mobo is a Gigabyte MA78G-DS3H with a AMD 780 Chipset; Cpu is an AM2 6000+ dual. I would like to install on a normal IDE Drive ( WD 120Gb) - not SATA. The source ´Rom i connected via an SATA to USB cable because the internal SATA DVD Drive stopps during install (with and without AHCI selected). Interestingly at start with the iAKTOS DVD the IDE Drive is listed - i can select the old Partitions. when i start the istalling procedure all went till it comes to the point of selecting the destination drive. The drive disapeared. When i disconnet it from IDE cable an connect it via a IDE to USB cable it appears and i can format it like normal. I tried to install this way and the Installation finished but after reebooting and the bootoptions-screen it crashes and boots new -> loop.
I´ve read in a other threat that this board makes Probs aond in this threat:
"I have HP Tx2550ee. It is a HP Tablet PC running on AMD Turion X2 Ultra with the 780 chipset (ATI HD3200 built-in video)
I used iAktos v7
I used Chameleon v2.
Voodoo Kernel, and one of the SMBIOS
I used ACPI and then ApplePS2 instead of Voodoo ones
AHCI for SATA
ATI for VGA
Broadcom for WiFi
Surprisingly all went well.
Things that worked...
Touch and pen input !
Volume control buttons (including Mute)
Things that didn;t work...
Video Hardware acceleration (ATi HD 3200 not supported)
Touchpad tapping or multitouch gestures (Had to use touchpad buttons)
Would you be so kind and help me please to solve the Problem and install Snow to my normal connected IDE Disk? By the Way, i have a original MAc Mini running at my TV with Tiger on it. Now i´d like to use SnowLeo on this PC.
I´ve tried to install with iAKTOS V7 too - V7 finds the IDE Drive and installes on it but the boot loop happens here too.

You could try V7 again, with maybe 20GB of the hdd, as S3 may have some problems, from your description of installing process.
Use boot option -x -v cpus=1
Thanks for answering me.
I tried V7 also and the bootloop happens again. All bootoptions i tried didn´t work - your suggested also not. I´ve got more IDE HD´s so i can try more Installations on diferent HD´s.
Meanwile i tried to install a TIGER 10.4.1 on a other 120 IDE Drive and all went well - Installation, starting and working with it!!! Things that don´t work (or not good), i found out till now, are:
-Networkcard unnown (No Internet, No Updates...)
-Display only with 1024*768
IS it possible or even better to Update this to an Snow Leo? when i put in the iAKTOS S3 V2 DVD it say´s that i can not update this Tiger with this SNOW LEO?! I read about updating that i should update the existing first with the software update funktion, but how to do without LAN Connection?
Ore should i try earlier Versions of Leo? At the Moment i´m trying to get a working driver for my RTL8111C NEtworkcard.

Your problems with V7 mostly would be incorrect custom selections/BIOS setup, as it went through the installation successfully.
What make it harder is using IDE instead of SATA. So you do need to select an IDE driver/kext for it. Your southbridge chipsets should be SB7xx or so, which you did not post. Also set your SATA to IDE mode instead of the posted AHCI in your BIOS. And retry V7.
FYI, earlier versions would not do any good (as those existed long before your hardware even came out, and so how it can have support?), Leopard has some limitation already, so SL would be your better choice. OSX version can only be updated correctly within releases of its version, ie. 10.4.x, 10.5.x but not across.
If you can get V7 running then there is method of using it to install retail SL DVD to the other part of your hdd (you can also try iDeneb 1.6 10.5.8 if V7 failed).
But whatever you like to do.
i´m not at home for a few days. When i get home i will try to get me an iDeneb and install it (but is the 10.5.8 not only available at a lite edition with less drivers?). Otherwise i´ve got to get me an SATA Drive to follow your suggestion. The other Bios setting i tested myselfe installing with the different settings but didn´t find anything working. Then i will also try I will tell you what happens.

Hom again i tried iDeneb 10.5.8 on the IDE Driver. Bootloop again with or without bootoptions -w -v cpus=1. I try next with a SATA Drive. IS the chance better to get it runnig by using a EFI Boot disk based installation?
I downloaded and tried an VM-Ware Image of an SL witch started by this bootdisk an it´s running in VM, slowly and with not all working - but its running!
