Unhappy iAtkos S3 Stuck at "Select your country"

Ok, I have a Dell D830 with all intel stuff with the exception of a few things (NIC and WiFi are broadcom). I have iAtkos S3 (SL 10.6.3) on DVD. I was able to boot fine from DVD. I left all the options alone except RTC I put to 32-bit because of kernel panics on several tries earlier. I selected the broadcom NIC and WiFi drivers. Ok, so between several installs, I tried not selecting video drivers, then I tried X3100 video driver with and without the other two options in video driver section. In boot loader options, I tried 32-bit boot default, graphics enabler and without those two, and I get the same problem. Here is the problem (two actually).

1st problem: With and without external monitor, video goes dark (even with only the external monitor). It's like it turns the monitor off. Well, with both (LCD and ext monitor), I can hit <fn>+F8 and it swaps video, external gets lines in it. I hit it again and it swaps to LCD and has lines, but the intro Video clears it up when it starts playing.

2nd problem: After the video, it goes to the welcome screen where you select your country. I can move the mouse around fine. But, I can't click to change country or continue to next page. I can physically press the button, but nothint happens. It does eventually get the busy wheel cursor. But nothing. I can try keyboard too, but nothing. I have tried external keyboard and mouse as well, but still nothing.

Ok, SO I found a "fix" to bypass the welcome stuff.
    Touch /var/db .AppleSetupDone

Seems like it may have worked. However, I still have the video problem, and I can't see anythign for the horizontal lines on the screen. I can tell the mouse cursor moves around, but that's it. please help....

Oh, and here's a link to the default options (about 2/3 the way to the bottom of the page) I used during setup.
Thanks a BUNCH in advance for help.

If you could post your specs, relevant to OSX installation.

It seems your problem is video related. May cause by bad/wrong kexts.

    1. Do need to find out what video card it is to deleted kexts.

    2. Try to boot with -x -f to see if you can make it to OSX desktop to remove those kexts.

    3. Worst case, you need to use Terminal to kill those kexts if you know what they are.

For your system with Intel 965, make sure you get the S3 Version 2 as it's updated to fix problem with 9xx series chipsets.

That's what I have S3 version 2. I read about the issues, and couldn't find version one anyways. So, glad I have v2. I will look at again when I get back to work tomorrow, but also still "hanging." I can move the mouse cursor, but clicking the continue button does nothing (neither does selecting another country). Worked fine during install, so seems like maybe something else is hanging it up, which I'm guessing could also be video card driver? Possibly it's not refreshing properly.

This problem is during first boot after successfully through installation?
Did you select PS2 fixed for your keyboard/mouse?
Don't select USB fixed as it could interfere with the ports.

Yes, through first installation. No I did not select any PS/2 Fixes. My built-in keyboard and mouse pad do not work (probably why). But, external does. I could try putting the ApplePS2 kext and if that doesn't work, try the VooDoo one (I think it's VooDoo).

You should use VoodooPS2. Also could try -v -x -f cpus=1 and no video selection to see where it's stuck.
