    Default Iatkos installation problem on toshiba L582

    Hi everyone,


    Can someone help me with kernel panic.im not sure if which of my hardware is having the error and can you guys help me choose the right package for my hardwares.thanks!

    I installed iatkos s3 with the following packages and the defaults. But it gave me a kernel panic

    Vanilla kernel
    Chameleon bootloader rc5
    32bit boot
    Rtc 32bit
    Ati 48xx
    Voodoo ps2
    Realtek 8187
    Sata ahci







    My Hardware specs:
    Toshiba satellite L582
    Processor:Intel dual core t4200 (2.0GHz, 1MB cache 2)
    Memory: 2GB DDR2 (800mhz)
    Motherboard:Intel gm45 chipset
    Vga card: Ati mobility 4570
    Wireless: Realtek 8187
    Lan: realtek 8108e/8102e
    Hdd:250GB intel sata ahci (5400rpm)

    Look like there are quite a few problems.
    Take the minimal approach to see if it's any better.

    Ratvn,

    Thank you for reply,ive been searching for old threads in this forum and it seems many toshiba users are having problems making their laptop work on osx.i just went back to windows 7.i will try again and install first in an external harddrive.

    Your selections are ok.
    But try with no video, no audio, no network, no extra, just the system core/essentials only.
    Also Chameleon RC4 may be better for you.

    Thanks for the advice! Is it possible for iatkos to be installed on an external hdd? I tried to plug my externel hdd but its not detected.any ideas?

    It's possible, and has been done often. May need the kext for your ext HDD. Try to set your BIOS? USB?
