Is it possible to install it on a dv6700?

I don't have a usb, but I do have the dvd.

I'm running a Windows 7 Ultimate and I'd like to dual boot.

Intel(R) Core(TM)2 Duo CPU T5550 @ 1.83GHz
2.00GB RAM
NVIDIA GeForce 8400M GS (256MB)

From this point I'm not sure what I'm talking about, but I've seen these things around on my computer:

I think my motherboard manufactures is Quanta, which I couldn't find anywhere.

I found something called Intel(R) ICH8 Family PCI Express Root Port #(There were about 8 I think)

Intel(R) PRO/Wireless 3945BG Network Connection



Is there any way i could try dual booting by using the dvd? Is there any risk to the data on the Windows partition?
