HP 210 resolution 800x600 stuck! Plz Help
Hello all,
I want to first say that there is great information on the site. I bought an HP 210-1030 just to try to see if I could get OS X to work. I have searched the forum and I am unable to find a fix to correct the screen resolution.
I am currently running 10.5.8. I found a few fixes listed and have tried them all. I currently have wifi working, battery indicator, I am now going to try to work on the webcam.
Also for anyone trying to install using a USB drive. I used Windows 7 and the HP USB utility and DDMAC to create the drive. I know that everywhere it says you have to use XP. But I was able to install 10.5.5 using that setup.
If someone could please help with the screen or webcam???????????????? I would greatly appreciate it.
And if anyone has a similar setup I would be happy to answer any questions if I can.
J.

Also... I used a modified version of the Dual boot listed on the site. I was able to install OS X along side of my Windows 7 version. Both are running very smoothly.

Just for resolution, have you enter in boot options first to try?
Or entry in Boot.plist?
Those are just for temporary solutions. A correct video driver should take it.
What is your video card model/number?

If you have not found the video kext yet and need resolution changed, then you could try this boot option:
"Graphics Mode"="1000x800x32"
That is with the quote and change the first two numbers with your native resolution.
See how it goes.

Ratvn,
thanks for responding I believe when I tried the boot options. Before I did not see any change. when I open a browser window I cannot see the bottom of the screen... It appears to be chopped of like during the install. Sorry for the typos typing from my iPhone. Is are ther any drivers or kext that u are aware of???? Also I could not get quartz extreme enabled I tried all the kext on the web and also the kext listed in the 10.5.8 update. But QE still says not supported. Thanks again and any more help or suggestions is ddefinetly welcome.

It appears that video kext was installed but has not working?
What is your native resolution? Integrated? What is the chipsets number/family?
I've heard others got QE/CI with X3100, but don't know if yours is in the same family with it.
You should check in System Profiler for graphics/display.

I tried the x3100 kext and I still had the same result no change in the resolution I do not want to give up I know I can make it work I am going to try some different x3100 kext or try to see if I can find some information.... I even downloaded switchresx and it does not appear to really change the resolution when I open up a simple game for example half of the information is off the screen. I hope to try someother stuff tonight.

You're doing well for trying.
I don't think switchrex is a good choice unless there is no other option.
When I have some times, I will look further and/or do some research into this video kext/method.
Hopefully you will get it soon.
