Default How do I update Chameleon RC4 to RC5 on a non-booting system

I installed SL on my laptop last night and it was working perfectly. I left it on all night, then today when I went to use it, the whole laptop was off. I booted up and got an error related to systemversion.plist. I can't boot into -s either. I researched and apparently this is because the system went into sleep mode last night after I left it running. As far as a I can find, the solution is to upgrade to RC5 of Chameleon. I can pull the drive, mount it in a USB enclosure and plug it into my PC and access files via TransMac, but I wasn't sure how to manually go about upgrading to RC5 using that route. Also the kext's moved from RC4 to RC5 so I'd need to make sure I understood where to move files from and to.

Is anyone aware of a tutorial that might help me with this? I used IATKOS S3 V2 to do the install which does have RC5 on it, perhaps there is a way to install from that DVD without wiping out the partition?

Thanks for any help, much appreciated. I've spent 3 days on this and finally went to bed last night with a sigh of relief it was over..... but it wasn't .

I'm getting a little closer. I've booted off of IATKOS and into terminal. I can see the system files in /Volumes/OSX (which is on /dev/disk0s5)
I think the file that I need to replace is the "boot" in /Volumes/OSX

Still working on on what to replace it with and how. I see on /Volumes/iATKOS s3 version 2/Applications/Utilities there is a Chameleon Installer.app directory
but the installer is for RC4. I know when I installed from this DVD it gave me the option of RC4 or RC5 so RC5 has to be on here somewhere.

Ok, closer still, I found this explanation of how to do this:

How to install Chameleon manually (v 2 and v 1) - InsanelyMac Forum

I have the i386 directory, but I have no idea how to get it onto my laptop
I burned it to a CD, but I already have the iATKOS DVD in and I can't unmount it because it's in use. So CD is no good.

Can I mount a USB stick or drive in this sort of scenario?

There's probably an easier way to do this, but I just edited the iATKOS ISO file and added the i386 directory from Chameleon RC5 to it and am reburning a new ISO. Let's see how this goes......

Wake=n was the trick to get past this hang. All of the previous posts were for nothing. However it's now hung on another error with AppleYukon2 getProperty failed . This thing was working flawlessly last night. I dunno what happened, I'm so sad
