I've posted about this in the snow leopard thread but figured I should start my own thread so as not to hijack that one. I'm making this computer my main system for doing audio editing and digital signal processing.
I've revised my build to include an i7 930 and built up from there. It changed everything in my build and now I'm back to square one, asking you kind people what I can expect from installing osx SL on these components (or if there are any components I should switch to make the installation processes easier).
This is what I came up with so far, it's a little bit over what I wanted to spend (roughly 900) but that's ok.

I already have a 22inch dell monitor, mouse, keyboard, and intend on running Pro Tools 8 LE, Propellerhead's Reason, and Native Instrument's Reaktor. My next purchase will be a M Audio firewire interface for recording into Pro Tools, so it's imperative that I have firewire (not sure if this Asus mobo has it or not).
(thanks for bearing with me guys. Posting on this forum is helping me to advance my knowledge and to get everything I'm dealing with organized) Thanks!
