Help Installing OSX on a Dell Precision t7500
Ok, I had done every step on the lifehacker tutorial and got it to the install screen after booting from a flash drive. Problem is I choose the install option and I need to reboot. I was able to prep the flash drive on my mac no prob, but no love so far on my Dell.
I'd like to know if my hardware checks out alright, and if there is something in my bios i specifically need to change, aside from the ACHI. Thanks in advance!

You could give some love to it first.
You could try to boot verbose and see if there is any error message.
Your system is a server, it seems. So you may have to find out the specs about chipsets and other board features.

No luck bootinng in verbose mode. I am able select the install mac osx, but after selecting it the computer restarts. Here is my motherboard info. At this point I'd like to know if my hardware is even compatible.

I am in the same boat however I have had a successful install. I just need to get it to boot to the OS. I get a black screen after the the reboot, when the os is about to start. I have done more research and its seems to be a video issue. It seems to not recognize my graphic cards or the monitors its one of the two. still working at it.
any suggestions?

Dual Quadro FX 4800
Dual 3.2 Ghz Xeons W5580

If it seems like video related problem then you could either remove one card, select the correct driver/kext, or remove trouble kexts/drivers to get to OSX desktop first then install kext afterward.

Are you able to get to OSX desktop, after logging in or still at the black screen with audio?

No, I still get the black screen, but I have tried something else so...I figured I would put a different Quadro in, the 4500. So I took out the 4800 and tried a 4500 from another workstation and it worked. I registered and got to the Snow Leopard desktop I was on cloud nine. however that is not the card I intended to use. The card (4800) is supported on mac but it's not the mac version. The one I have has two display ports and one DVI and I think an Svideo. The mac version of the Quadro 4800 has two DVIs and may be dual link DVIs. I don't know if that is the issue. Can that be the cause? It seems like when it is about to boot to the desktop the display just cuts out immediately. When it did boot though with the other card of course no network card working but sound did. I am not really that familiar with kexts or efi stings but. But I am hoping something can work.

That is not bad at all. I was to give you a list of codes to kill the bad kexts just in case you're still with that black screen.
Now, use your 4500 to boot to OSX then navigate to /S/L/E and delete all NV kexts then reboot with -f (actually, instead of deleting, move them out of that folder and create another folder to put them into, just in case you need any of them back). Once you get back to desktop then just shutdown and change the card with your 4800. Reboot with -f again to see if you can get to desktop with 4800 cards. The driver for 4800 could be install later.
