Default Got sick of win...help me install mac

Hi guys!!! I want to switch to mac, when I heard that it can be installed on regular pc, I thought that it would be easy as installing win...guess I was wrong.

So, I have absolutely no idea what all of those stuff means when customizing installation, except for selecting drivers according to my hardware. But those kexts, patches, loaders and kernels gives me headache...

I tried to install xxx 10.5.6 mac rev1 on my pc without luck. Please, suggest me some mac version that would work on my pc, and (MORE IMPORTANT) tell me what to select when installing. Also, should I start installation with some parameters ( like those -v, -s, that I keep seeing all over the forum)???

    MY HARDWARE

    Motherboard: DFI Blood Iron
    Chipset> P35 + ICH9
    Audio> Realtek ALC885 8 chanel
    Lan> Marvell 88E8053
    IDE> JMicron JMB368

    Processor: Intel Dual Core E5200

    RAM: 3 x 1gb ram 800mhz

    VGA: MSI ATI hd3850 256mb

Also, I am trying to install it on my old 40gb PATA hdd, if anything goes wrong, not to distroy everything on my 640gb SATA HDD.

i recommend iAtkos v7 for the beginning. It's the 10.5.7 OS X Leopard.
After install you can download from apple the 10.5.8 Combo Update and install it too right from Leopard.
(dont use the Automatic Update from Leopard itself for OS version update only for the rest of the updates)

after you play a little bit with it maybe you want to install SL as well..

U'll love the MacOS, but likely miss the 10x (and free) Windows programs.

I don't think I will miss it that much... I will still have win installed on one pc, so that isn't going to be a problem.

I have just placed torrent for downloading. Can somebody tell me what to check when istalling mac?

First thing! Search through this wiki's project x86 compatibility hardware list!

I just looked at the list. It seams that my hardware is supported by iAtkos v7.

I will try tonight to install, then I am going to report here what happened.

    Wish me luck!!!

Ok, I tried to install it twice till now...Once with voodoo and second time without it.
Both times it gets into a loop and keeps restarting after showing me splash screen of bios, so I presume that I need to select some patch for bios, but don't know which one.
    Help please!!!

    Yey, I've made it!!!!!!!!!!
I found the needed info about loaders, kernels, patches and other stuff in license agreement text...I have never read that before when installing something! :-)

But, I have few problems now. When I go to info it tells me 4.0ghz intel pentium e5200 cpu, but its default clock is 2.5ghz, and I have clocked it to 3.0ghz via bios. Could it be that mac clocked my cpu???
Second, no sound and no lan... Or I just don't know how to set it up. I have installed all (shouldn't I?) audio drivers, including voodoo hda, but I only get some low frequency sound from my speaker, sounds like only woofer sounds in normal speaker. I have to mention that I use Genius 5.1 analog speaker system.
Also, on that hardware info page it shows "there is not built-in audio", and I can't see ethernet anywhere.
I get my internet via lan cable, from a wireless router so, please help me configure it.

The audio codec is a Realtek ALC885
LAN chip is a Marvell 88E8053
