I think every distro will give you error at first, but you have to fix it.
Search this forum for the error and the fix.
If you can't find it, post the screen shot here, may be someone will help.
But for trial, ideneb is just as good.
    Customize it..

    Hi there,
I have the same AMD CPU, x2 3800+ 2.5Ghz, OCed to 3.25Ghz, running 10.6.2 and 10.5.8 beautifully. However, my supporting chipsets are ATI SB600 and your NV is a bit more picky.
Thanks to Swordsman who pointed out, Ideneb 1.6 Lite 10.5.8 is much better as I've tried many of them to no avail. Iatkos v7 can be installed but it took way too long. Hope this assist you in some ways.
    Regards,

    iPC
    Ideneb 1.6 Lite 10.5.
    Iatkos v7
    ideben 1.3 10.5.6

and besides iPC i got "still waiting for root device"

and I searched up my errors (both of them) on google and these forums, and came up dry

    Hi there,
I got it now and sorry that you are running into so much trouble. I googled your hard drive and it looks like a SATA, so that part is good to go. In your BIOS there should be an option to set sata controller to AHCI. Try to find that and give me your motherboard make and model so I will try to look it up as well if you can not find it ( if that option is not feasible then there is more work needed to be done).
Let try it with Ideneb 1.6 Lite, 10.5.8, and don't select any NV driver but choose ATI ATY_init for your graphic injection. Boot with options: -x -v busratio=20 cpus=1.
    Good luck,
    Regards,
