Alright, I forgot that you have not got to the installation screen yet. That is where you make your selection of driver/packages. So the settings for ACPI and SATA AHCI are not available? Is your computer a custom or brand name? Still need the make and model #. If it is a brand name then it should have a label for model number. If it is a custom then on the motherboard should have its model number. Or if you have a manual that come with it then you can look up as well.
For OSX installation with SATA set at IDE then the infamous error will come up just about every time. There may be other solutions if the above can not be done, but it will be difficult and involving more steps.

I did some search and found some information for your system. Your motherboard chipsets MCP61 seems to be not fully AHCI compliant so options to set SATA controller may not be there.
To get around the infamous "waiting for root device", the best configuration is SATA hard drive and IDE DVD/RW with jumper set as MASTER and 80 pin at correct position (end connector for master and middle connector for SLAVE). If your have both IDE hard drive and DVD then DVD drive needs to be set as MASTER and hard drive as SLAVE with correct 80 pin cable connectors at correct positions.
Also to get OSX running properly, some additional kexts about SATA controller and ACPI need to be loaded, and hopefully that latest Ideneb 1.6 has everything you need in there.

I tryed so many things most guides want me to get a current SL and use the disk utility to create the partition which i dont have access to one so what can i do?

is there any distro/installation dvd that you manage too boot at all and get the installation process run?

FYI : when you boot any of them,if default dont work, you should try the kernel that match your system. i.e Ideneb 1.6 Lite, 10.5.8, it has some choices of anv kernel, mach_970, mach_toh kernel, which you can load and see if it works. At boot prompt type: mach_970 -x32 cpus=1.
And if you can get installer screen, click customize before you click install.

From some experiences, ideneb 10.5.5, was very easy to boot on amd, just need the -x32 flag

or have you read about installing retail SL with an EmpireEFI4AMD (it is a boot cd img to load the retail SL dvd customize for AMD pc -->google)

He has not got to the installer screen yet due to the infamous "waiting for root device", and the BIOS does not have provision for SATA to AHCI. I did some search and got the instruction to set IDE drive, but I don't know if he has any luck with it (there was no reply to that).
Your suggestion for his system problem is appreciated.

yea, that is why i suggest the ideneb 10.5.5 which is boot good on IDE..or..may be it was the board...
or may be he has to go way back to leo4all..?

ideneb 10.5.6 and the lite edition and about two other destros give me the sitll waiting for root device error and i have no clue how to fix it

ipc gives me kernel panic

Odd enough i downloaded a retail dvd for snow leopard 10.6 but when i open it full of .exe files? idk...and no 0sx86 dont work
ideben and ideben lite and iATKOS and kay something none work just same still waiting for root device

ipc gives me kernel panic that no search gave me a solution

retail dvd dont work even with a pre boot kexts cd someone made and glet me download a copy and that kent cd dont work with the osx86 anyways

but i wonder why the idea why my download "snowleopard_10a432_userdvd" which said it was retial has exe files inside all over dvd?

It is not Ideneb nor other distros. That waiting...error has to do with your nForce chipsets with no AHCI. My post for instruction is #12, just a couple post earlier that you may want to read again. I've just have confirmation that another member with nForce chipsets 680P, with the same error waiting for root device, using that IDE method and got it through installation, so I suggest that you try it out.

Thank you very very very much for the help but im not 100% sure what I should do, this is what I have

currently 1 hard drive thats a SATA II
and 1 dvd burner also a SATA

I have a IDE harddrive somewhere but may also need to find the IDE cable to my pc

So you read #12 post, your post is #19, look at the top right corner you will see it.
Anyway, that method suggest a SATA hard drive and an IDE DVD drive. Set the DVD drive jumper at Master position, and at the very end connector of the 80 pin cable.
You have the SATA hard drive so it ok. Now see if you have an IDE DVD rom/rw or borrow one to do the installation.
Suggesting use Ideneb 1.6 first, if not working then trying Iatkos v7.
Boot options: -x -v cpus=1 and/or busratio=20 (if needed)
See if you could make it to the installer screen, if not then post your error.
