Default Dual Boot Snow Leopard with Windows 7 on HP Pavilion

    Hello,

I have an HP Pavilion dv9825nr laptop, and I'm curious as to whether or not I'll be able to dual boot Snow Leopard along with Windows 7 Ultimate on this machine. I have an Intel(R) Core2 Duo CPU t5550 1.83 Ghz Processor, and 4.00 GB of RAM. I am currently running the 64 bit OS.

What I'm really curious is to whether or not it would be possible to create a partition on my external hard drive, and boot Leopard from that drive only when connected. I'm wondering how I would achieve this, so that when not connected to the hard drive I can just boot Win7, but when connected I would have the choice.

If someone could please let me know if this type of dual boot would be possible, and if so, what steps I should take to put it into motion, I would really, really appreciate it.

Thanks for reading, and thank you for any assistance you may be able to provide.

I recently installed Hazard 10.6.1-6.2 on my HP Pavillion DV6 3204tx and I was able to get it to work and dual boot with Windows 7 Professional. I am not sure since you have the older Core 2 Duo and I have an i5 480 but it is possible to do using HP if you select the right customizations and kexts. To do it you need to have Windows 7 installed first and your OS X on its own partition.

If you need any info please let me know, as I'm trying to get around a problem with 10.6.6i not letting me boot the installation CD.

I have a HP DV5234US. I loaded Hazard's 10.6.1 like you did but and I can't get past the Apple loading screen without the 'your system needs to restart...' bomb hitting... any advice?
I tried many packages and none. tried just the intel chameleon 10.5 boot loader but it just bombs at the apple screen.... gets past the boot loader fine.
using -v I get something with a kernel panic and Intel but can't tell if it's the video card or NIC or what...? Should I check anything in the packages specifically? I see somethings for video/audio/etc... what do I need? If I don't check a video driver will it run normally?.. I can take screen shots of my installs if you want or whatever. I tried this about 8x this weekend and got this far... (really don't want to drop $1000+- on a crappy mac just to dev for iPhone)

    thanks for any help
    Beau
