Default Do I need a new MoBo?

Hi guys, just need to check something.

I've been trying all night to get my new (second hand) PC running OSX but I've run into a major stumbling block.

As my optical disk drives are IDE I'm using a USB drive to boot using iBoot and then a retail Snow Leopard DVD, Snow Leopard, however does not recognise the internal hard drives. I'm fairly sure this is because I haven't set the SATA mode to AHCI, as there is no option to do this in the BIOS screen (Pheonix-Award). Is there a modded BIOS available that would allow me to change this?

My motherboard is an ASUS P5N-E SLI / NVIDIA Dual X8 SLI. I read somewhere that the Nvidia chipset doesn't support OSX, if this is true I believe that flashing the BIOS still wouldn't work. Am i right?

So, all in all- if this MoBo isn't suitable (the rest of my hardware is Intel C2D E6700, Geforce 880GTS, 2x generic IDE optical, 2x WD SATA II HDD, which I believe should all work) then does anyone have any recommendations?
