    Default Distro vs Retail Hackintosh

I'm just a little lost on which version is better. I'm guessing the retail version would be better for upgrading but I was wondering what version would be best. I do have an iAtkos 10.5.7 disc lying around so I can do the booting from usb drive. Also could I use a memory card reader and a 8gb memory card or an external hard drive. Thanks if you could help me
    Btw my specs are
    Asus P7H55-M Pro mobo
an i3 530 processor with integrated GPU till I decide to get a gts 250
I'm pretty sure nothing else would be important other than that but if so I'll give it up to ya lol

It's used to be matter/choice, but not a whole lot in this case.
Leopard, 10.5.x, could be installed but the i-class CPU won't get fully support till at least 10.6.4, so whatever fit you choice.

Can't really upgrade Leopard to Snow Leopard (different OS's), so SL 10.6.x would be better if installed fresh, whether distro or retail (would be harder) is up to you.
