Dell Inspiron 1545
I'm trying to install OSX Snow Leopard onto my Dell Inspiron 1545. I've formatted my USB drive to GUID and used the EP45-UD3P Installer to patch the USB drive. When I put it into my laptop and boot onto the USB, after a few minutes of the apple logo with the loading circly thing, a circle with a line throigh it appears on the apple logo (I can't of the technical name for it). WHat am I doing wrong? How do I do it right? If possible, I'd like to stay away from torrents.
Thanks in advance!

Your laptop hardware may be different, hence it won't work.
Boot with -v for possible error message.

SL Boot132 is your best option with SL retail DVD, it worked great for me, just remember to disable all boot options during installation except for CD/DVD drive and start with a clean HDD

I decided to try with -v -x turned on so I could see what the errors are. It says "MAC Framework successfully initialized using ........
AppleYukon2: RxRingSize <=1024 *some other numbers*
Still waiting for root device"
The waiting for root part comes up again every few miutes. Any ideas on the problem?
I tried the SL Boot132 method, but I keep getting the error "Can't find mach_kernel." When I tried using -v -x

hey there,
I have almost the same problem.
I use the boot-132 disk but everytime i try to boot it, it says:
''Still waiting for root device'' after ''AppleYukon2: RxRingSize <= 1024 ....''
I've cleaned my harddisk but it was still not working..
Please help

what i found that worked everytime was tonymacx86's iBoot ISO. that's what i'm using, i dont know if im going to use the Chameleon (RC5) from that ISO. I may use the one from the Boot132 disc, which is RC3.
here's the link to download iBoot:
