    Default Dell 1535

I have installed 10.5 on this laptop with out a problem But I got a wild hair this weekend to do a retail install of snow leopard. Th problem is that I cant get successfully booted into the install environment.

I have tried empire EFI, if I use the default ISO it wont boot it hangs at Cdboot:done

So I used legacy version and i get the snow leopard to boot but once it loads the gray screen right before the apple continue splash screen....but then just turns black. So that's where I'm stuck any help would be greatly appreciated.

    interesting.... did the same.

    figured out this work around.

plug an external monitor into your VGA port (if you have one), once your sitting at the boot screen of empire efi, hit fn+f8 keys, this will move the display from your laptop screen to the external. go ahead and boot your installation, once it gets to the spot that it used to go black, the external will go black and your laptop screen will turn on.

stupid yes, but it works. once you get into your OS, go into expose and set up a sleep display corner, at that point you'll be able to wake it up when it goes black by moving the mouse to the corner of the screen.

    hope that helps!
