    Unhappy Can't boot after succ. installation iDeneb 1.4

    Hi. I have iDeneb 1.4 installed on my PC:
    -MSI P35 Platinum
    -Intel Core 2 Quad Q8200
    -Ati HD2900 Pro
    -6GB 800MHz CL4 Geil Ultra RAM
    -HD audio Realtek
    -ps/2 genius keyboard (unfortunately)
    -Razer diamondback mouse (USB)
    -22" LCD

    I have 160GB SATA II hdd formatted to Mac OS Extended (journaled) system. My customization during istallation was: video driver Ati HD2900 , some ICHx for Intel (kext or what ist it), and some tools x86 and so on. I'm newbie so I don't know what else should I do. After install it can't start. And it says this:

    The last line is a bit confusing for me.. using 16384 headers and 4096 cluster IO buffer headers > I understand IO like an output input device(s) so could it be a keyboard problem?
    HELP PLZ!

    this probably mean the chipset kext not yet satisfied....
    try boot with -x32 cpus=1 -f -v
    either way,the is the winner..

    No improvement... I tried to boot with you parameters, but nothing happend. Then I installed it again for a few times with som kernel fixes from voodoo + cpus=1 and without it, then some intel SSE3 fix +/- cpus=1 (because I think I have the SSE3 processor), then I added ps/2 fix... nothing, still the same end.

    i think your first setting is good...keep the ichx kext, vanilla (default) kernel is good for intel.
    if you can choose just one kext each for your video ,sound and ethernet.
    keep boot with -x32 -f -s (cpus=1) after install until you got prompt so you can do permissions repair and disk verify.
    Or do not boot straight to hd but boot with the disk again and run disk utility to fix permissions for your hd...(fixing permissions is important!).

    Do Not Install the iDeneb Base System over an existing Base System! This could cause the failure of the installation! To always execute a fresh install;
    Do Not Select more than one a drivers of the same type! For example, Do not select 2 Audio Drivers or 2 SMBIOS, this will in many cases cause the install to fail;
    Vanilla 9.6.0 is default kernel;
    If you have based on AMD and/or SSE2 you must select an alternative kernel, advised kernel voodoo 9.5.0;
    If you use kernel Voodoo you don’t select the AMD Patch ;
    If you use Voodoo Kernel you must select “Seatbelt Fix” under fix for resolve the problem of mount of an .dmg,.iso or .cdr;
    If you select AppleBCM5784M_5787M and of the restart don’t work, you could try with the package that there are in the Root of your System Partition;
    If your system’s sound does not work even after installing the proper sound drivers there may be an issue with the System Preferences. Go to System Preferences Sound > Output > and make sure that “Internal Speakers” is chosen and not Headphones or something else;
    If you have a NVidia Video Card you don’t select more than a injector. You can choice or NVinject, or NVKush, or NVdarwin;
    If you have a problem with ACPI_SMC_PlatformPlugin.kext you can select ACPI_SMC_Fix under Fix Menu;
    If you have a compatible system you can select ACPI Kext 10.5.6, under Alternative Essential Patch Menu, and are original ACPI Kext from 10.5.6;
    If you have kernel panic and you don’t know what caused it, boot in verbose mode ( -v boot flag at the F8 boot prompt ) for visualize the error;
    If you don’t know like resolve the error you can try install only based system with essential drivers ( Ex. Chipset Drivers ) without the “extra” drivers;
    In some situations for the first boot it could be necessary to start with the flag – f for load the kext correctly;
    If you haven’t select Video Drivers it could be necessary to start with flag -x;
    If you are installing iDeneb on one of the Netbook in list, not to select no other drivers or patch;
    either way,the is the winner..

    Now I have a brand new situation. I have replaced my mainboard to Gigabyte P43 ES3G and os image to iPC 10.5.6. and followed this guide from wiki.osx86project.org:
    It was successfully installed using the exactly same type of mainboard.
    "Installed from iPC 10.5.6 final
    BIOS: default settings (usb-mouse & usb keyboard enabled)
    used DVD-drive: IDE
    used HDD: SATA
    Video: Nvidia 9800Gt 1g ram
    Disk Utility: Mac Os Extended Journal
    Kernal: Default, not Checked
    Video Driver: Nvinject 0.2.1 1024Ram
    Chipset Driver: Intel ICH10 SATA, Jmicron ATA for Jmicron IDE
    Audio: Legacy AppleHDA, ALC888 Address 0 (Sound will not work after first install. Download RapidShare: 1-CLICK Web hosting - Easy Filehosting (Thanks Jefferson136) Install 2 kexts via B7 helper tool)
    Ethernet: Realtek R1000
    Patches : Shutdown Restart Fix
    Applications: Kext Helper B7 (for install of sound kext after first boot)."

    The difference between his pc and mine is the processor (doesn't change anything) and graphic card! The whole installation was succesfull but after restart when the apple logo disappear then MAC OS starts but I see only some "texture" like graphic card error. OS is running because some music is playing at the start so it is definitely the graphic card problem.
    I have ati HD 2900 Pro so I googled and found some guide that says that I don't select any driver in install (then download Natit kext and use it if OS starts fully). I did so but nothing different happend. In installation customization I can even choose a Natit video driver that support many graphic cards but there is the same result again. I don't know what to do even when I'm so close!

    Hi there,
    Yes, you are so close. Are you still using NV graphic card? If so you could try to delete all kexts related to NV and use ATY_init for video injection.

    I've solved the problem with start... I don't use NV card I have ATi HD 2900 Pro and I did a fresh installation w/o drivers.
    I started OS using -x -f parameters so now I'm using OS X finally!!
    I used this guide:
    "1.Get Natit from here
    Extract the archive and copy Natit.kext to /System/Library/Extensions
    Locate ATIRadeonX2000.kext in /System/Library/Extensions,
    2. Open /System/Library/Extensions/ATIRadeonX2000.kext/Contents/Info.plist with the editor of your choice and add the PCI ID of your card (if it is not already in there). Save.

    If you have a Radeon 2900 Pro or a Radeon 2900 XT download this
    Extract it and copy ATY_Franklin.kext to /System/Library/Extensions/ATINDRV.kext/Contents/PlugIns.
    If you have a different chipset skip this step!
    Open Terminal (if you haven't already done so) and type:
    CODE
    cd /System/Library/Extensions
    sudo chown -R root:wheel *
    sudo chmod -R 755 *
    sudo rm /System/Library/Extensions.mkext"
    /System/Library/Extensions/Caches/com.apple.kext.info
    You are done. Reboot and pray"

    And it works!!! I skipped the 2. but it worked...
